Would y'all recommend this game to someone who's solely interested in solo play?
Yes, there's a ton to do and it's really fun.

I just finished the campaign, and I'm a bit disappointed. The Taken King felt more like a sequel than this, in a lot of ways.
It had greater mission variety, a lot more interesting story, a whole "new race" of enemies, a big focus on mystery and the overall design over everything felt great. Oryx was also a much better villain than than Ghaul, and the whole Book of Sorrows thing was just brilliant. One of my favorite pieces of sci-fi writing ever, up there with Hyperion and Revelation Space.
Anyway, I have no idea how the endgame will turn out. I still have most of the adventures and side activities left on all planets. Hopefully the game will surprise me, but I just feel it's a step back from Taken King in some ways. I don't care for the Cabal at all. Destiny is best when it's fucking out there, and Taken King proved that. Occult lovecraftian aliens, weird rituals, crazy worms and the works. I hope Bungie doesn't try to ground Destiny too much. The lore is the best, and the more mystical and crazy it gets, the better. Bring back the Hive in a big way for the expansions!
So our Guardian isn't talking at all in the cutscenes? Pretty sure the Guardian said 1-2 sentences per cutscene in D1.
Silent Protagonists in games with many cutscenes are stupid.
Did you read the same post as me? He explained how.How did TTK feel like more of a sequel?
If you rank up a vendor is that based on your current level too?
I have to say, the campaign execution felt much, much more disjointed than anything we have had since vanilla. The narrative worked, but those fades to black, jumps of millions of miles into the room of other actors, and some obviously missing transition scenes got to me.
Kept pulling me out of the fantastic missions.
Had a really productive session early this morning! Got a more powerful version of the Phillips-B, a submachine gun I really love. Got to level 17. Stumbled upon the Nightwalker artifact!!! Woo!!! Now gotta kill dudes in public events. Also gotta build up that reputation with Ashen. Almost there.
I really love my Sunshot. Is there a limit to how many times you can infuse a weapon? How do you infuse something? Can you only infuse exotics/legendaries with other exotics and legendaries?
Are strikes the only way to get Vanguard Tokens?
So how do mods work? You can only apply one to an item? You lose it if you infuse with another?
Are strikes the only way to get Vanguard Tokens?
Pretty sure it is. And you get 6 per run I think (that's what i've gotten from all the ones I've done)
RNG loathed me in Destiny 1. Here I got the Vigilance Wing Osiris exotic pulse from a legendary engram. It feels great!
Classical you mean?
I founda cave with a Rasputin warmind logoed... Probe? But no way to interact with it...
So not sure what to do. It corrupted vex that got near it.
Just starting but do we not have choice of subclass anymore? We have to play with what the game forces you to start as? Not a fan of this starting subclass
Nope, sunshot was my first exotic. It's now my best at 287. It's so good it's borderline broken; the explode on death perk is amazing for clearing out packs.

What are Vanguard Tokens for?
- One mod / item. Ghost doesn't have mod slot
- Item can take only mods for its type (leg mod to pants, kinetic mod to kinetic weapon...)
- Legendary mods are goal as they give +5 to Power Level
- Mods can't be removed from gear
- Replacing mod destroys old one
- If you infuse Armor 1 with Armor 2 that has mod then that mod is lost in process
[*]You can turn Rare mods to Legendary ones at Gunsmith with 3:1 ratio- Gear mods are perfect glimmer sink
Check meditations from Ikora too, could give some.
You'll have the other two before you're done with the campaign.
Ive a million questions about stuff as a first timer but I guess Ill follow the campaign and see if I can figure any of the stuff out by the time Im lvl20. But I do have to ask: If I decide to do whatever quest or challenge that comes to my way or decide to spend whatever currency on something random, is there a chance I end up doing something Im really gonna regret later on? Im fine if my progress slows down a bit. I just feel like playing the game without the stress of minmaxing from the very beginning.
Not true. It's a drop so doesn't mean you will get it before you finish the story. I didn't get the Titan sunbreaker subclass till after I finished the story.
Save shaders and mods for purple loot later. I'd also not turn in / rank up factions untill you are approaching 250 light level, since you can get there easily just playing. Save purple's that feel good to you in your vault.
Other than that, have fun and don't worry.
Glimmer is meant to be spent. Use it to buy blue and green early to level light level faster.

How do you do this? Do you have to be at power 280?
tempted to spend some of that free dust i got

If I don't get Salty emote until Trials, I might not play it. Sorry, my usual Trials colleagues.

So what's the wise thing to spend glimmer on?
Back to getting Destiny 2 is at capacity (after 2 failed to connect to Destiny 2 servers messages). Surprising.. we are days past launch, and they could just order up more cloud capacity (IIRC, they said they had a hybrid on-premise/cloud server infrastructure for console).
Well, I'm headed into Florida for vacation. Hope the storm doesn't swing west!
Made it to 243 before leaving. Brought the console but not sure how much I'll get to play. Looking forward to watching DGAF raid impressions.
This game is a triumph so far for Bungie and I've already had so many great moments with friends. So excited for the weeks, months, and years to come.

I've never really played a Destiny game before.
I picked a Warlock and I've just unlocked the void walker. But on voidwalker and dayblade (or whatever it's called) there are 'attunements'.
Do I have to pick an attunement and stick with it, or can I level them all up and swap between them as I can with voidwalker and daywalker?
It feels like it's assuming I've played before and understand how everything works.

You upgrade them both and can freely switch between them. the only thing is if you do switch all your cooldowns reset if you do it during anytime you have the cool down bars. also this is new to this gameDo I have to pick an attunement and stick with it, or can I level them all up and swap between them as I can with voidwalker and daywalker?
