Have a niche question for anyone who's playing on a copy which is not from their region.
My PS4 account is USA. Destiny 1 copy was NA. Destiny 2 copy is going to be EU.
Can I still buy in game items like emotes through my USA account?
For DLC that's downloaded to the system like expansions, that's not a problem, but I'm not sure about microtransactions or entitlements whatever they're called. Emotes won't carry over across PS4 accounts for sure.
But I hope if I try to buy something from in-game store through my EU copy, using my NA account, it doesn't give me a 'No items available for purchase' error like it does for normal DLC since the game's code doesn't match the code of the DLC in the PSN store.
EDIT: If anyone saw Gothalion purchase something on his NZ copy, then my question's answered.
I've always been led to believe that you have to purchase DLC on the same region as the base game but I believe there is a distinction to be made when it comes to 'consumables', in-game currencies and loot boxes.
So I think most of us know that you can share digital content on an account between two consoles by setting one as your primary while using the other always-online, always-logged-in. So if you bought a game or an expansion pass it would be available on both of them.
I do not believe if you purchase a 'consumable' that a second account, logged in on your primary console will receive it in addition to the purchasing account. However I have myself purchased a couple of Overwatch loot boxes on my UK account, and I play with a digital copy from a US account that has my console set as primary and I did indeed receive them. The in-game shortcut to the store showed me 'No content available' however I bought the cheapest 2 box bundle directly on the UK marketplace in order to test and they came through. I would assume that Destiny silver would be the same.
