I am desperately trying to resist the urge to go buy a physical copy so I can play after work. I've already got digital preordered and the collector's edition on the way. I need to work on my self-control.
 
Annnd bought into the hype. Pre-ordered.

And I barley have time for sp games. I will be the one still at level 18 a month later.

Remind me- are raids level specific?
 
Er. Are the servers live? O.o

I booted up the game, ran through the opening stuff, picked my character and am loaded into Homecoming. It's still playing the cutscene so not 100% sure if I'm actually connected.
 
Might boot up R6 Siege.

Was gonna approve some folk for the clan but bnet clan system is offline for maintenance.
 
Bought into the hype last night and got the $100 pre-order.. I really did enjoy Destiny 1 but never got into the late game stuff like raids so hoping I am able to do that this time around.
 
Is there an official Trophy List anywhere?

Both playstationtrophies.org and psnprofiles say D2 only has 14 trophies, and, like...that can't be right, can it?
 
Today has been decidedly unproductive. Haven't really done much of anything at work and I'm supposed to be trying to get ahead because I have Thursday and Friday off!!

Not to mention I'm gonna be exhausted tomorrow after I'm up all night playing. Why didn't I just take the whole week off?

Either way, about 8 1/2 hours to go. Not too long! Probably going to take a nap when I get home so hopefully by the time I wake up it'll be pretty much time to go!!

I'm not sure if subclass related stuff is considered a spoiler or not, so i'll tag it just in case.
I got an item drop from a public event that gave me a quest to regain gunslinger. I'm not sure whether it's random of if it's triggered by something else though.

It's right. People who are playing have confirmed that there are only 14 trophies. I think there are lots of in game challenges though.

Whelp my friends talked me into pre ordering. I hated the original, but only played it at launch for a few days. Never touched it again. For some reason though impressions and previews have me hyped for this.
 
I'm wondering if this game will pull me away from my months long obsession with PUBG. Most of my friends claim they are bailing on D2, but I'm hoping they change their minds. I was underwhelmed with the beta but have been mostly avoiding information about the game other than what is the trailers.

Working till 5, go to Gamestop to get my ticket, wait till 9 to pick up the wife's new shiny white ps4 pro, go home with her, make coffee, get on the couch, and jump into D2 together. Sincerely looking forward to it.

Whoa if you hated the original I can't see you enjoying D2! It's the same game with some more stuff. Core is still the same.
 
Anyone else feel like the Titan's movement is painfully slow? I'm playing on PS4 and it just feels like moving through molasses compared to the other two classes. I don't remember it being like this in the original Destiny.

They all play pretty similarly in practice. The biggest differentiator is really the jumps, for me. The Titan and Warlock jumps just feel bad so I've always played more Hunter.

TITAN: slow
WARLOCK: floats
HUNTER: By god almighty look at how maneuverable and awesome you are

They took away titan skating, before it was the fastest class to get around with.

Truthfully though.... since the Titan is the "tank" I would expect the class to be the slowest of the 3, with the hunter having the most mobility, and the warlock... well the warlock has its lolglide

I mean I get it, heavy class but it just feels crazy slow. Might just need to get used to it.
 
So what is the best subclass to main?


Thinking of only running one class this time.


I used to love Titan but the removal of skating has me thinking otherwise.
 
I'd be playing with randoms.

Can I go through the whole game that way or would I be locked out of certain content like D1?

Apologies if this has been asked a bunch of times already.

Not that i know much yet, but I think Luke Smith said that they really allowed for "builds" this go around.

In other words, if you want a faster titan you have to build for it.

I was about to switch to titan until the fact that Nightstalker got announced. Absolutely great utility class in Destiny, and with the invis, its excellent at running objectives in pve.

For me
(1) Hunter
(2) Titan


(3) Warlock

I remember going back and rolling a new D1 hunter last year, and it was like moving in molasses until I got it upgraded some.

In crucible..." let me just blink out of here"... and then I would blink right into a titans shotgun blast.

Haha. You must become that shotgun blast. It may not be as useful in PvE, but in PvP you can seriously confuse people using blink. Blink + smg's = mayhem.
 
I need some help deciding whether to buy or not. I'm a very slow player because of physical disabilities. I can never keep up the pace like you guy's do.

With that said, I bought and played vanilla Destiny 1. I loved the feel of the weapons, enjoyed the game play and graphics. My problem came about a week after D1 launched. Everybody plays so fast that by the time I got to the moon, it was barren of players. I could always find people to play on the first planet but not the moon.

Do you think it will be the same scenario for me with D2? Or will there be more solo stuff for me, if I can't find people? Thanks for any help.
 
Fucking hype. It got me and I want to get it, when it unlocks in 2 hours here. Didn't played the first one.

The fucked up thing is, I have to decide between Destiny 2 hype tonight, or my SNES Mini, which I got pre ordered at Amazon
