I played over 859 hours of destiny. This Cayde was amped up to 1,000. They went way too far in the other direction. The Taken King was lighthearted and there were a couple of (eye-roll worthy) winks and nods to shit but never "LOOOOT!" Opinions and all of that but most of the community would've defended this if it was a picture of the poop emoji. Also, I loved Destiny even with its flaws and it did get better but don't pretend these people didn't nickel and dime you a million times.

Why not release a Destiny 1 collection on pc before 2s release? :/
They used to not charge until a few days prior to release and allowed you to cancel either through the website or the console here in Europe.
People abused it to get free themes and other pre-order shit (fucking roaches man) and Sony changed it to the way it works in America. Sucks.
You're misremembering. Taken King was $40 for owners of all previous DLC and the vanilla game. The Legendary Edition was $60 and came with TTK and all previous content, it was the intended package for new players.

Really didn't like the trailer, nor am I hyped about the games premise.
Hopefully the gameplay reveal will recapture the space fantasy mystery and fun that pulled me in.

The game is just a little over 5 months out, with a public beta already scheduled. Safe to say, this game is almost certainly content-locked, so they have a pretty good idea on how much free memory you'll likely need at launch. I also imagine that is taking into account a reserve that might be needed in the first few months or so after launch, for whatever updates they have planned from Oct.-Dec.

Pretty good trailer. Liking the humor.
Its not a comedy routine that is his natural cadence. He is not doing an open mic night in front of the crumbling city - he's trying to rally guardians - hence the contrast with the more serious Zavala who actually underlines the seriousness of the situation.
Cayde is at the forefront because he is a fan favourite and one of the only characters in the Destiny universe with some personality.
Aside from Watch Dogs 2, what other examples of this are there?

I thought that it might had been in some sort of beta state where they would patch the rest of the game later, and instead I figure they where just planning to sell the rest in pieces for ridiculous prices.
I thought that I might give it another go about two proper expansions later where the content would be enough to justify a 60 euros price, and they announce a discontinuation of the vanilla franchise!
I thought that I would see some major gameplay and mechanic improvements in the Destiny 2 trailer, and it ended up being a CG just doing an impersonation of Deadpool.
It's a game I wanted to like, but it ended up as a corporate experiment on how much can they ask for how little.

Yeah I'm gonna hold off on buying the legendary edition this time. Gonna see if it's a loot grind again pass the final level. From the looks of it though you're gonna have to buy all the expansions to keep playing the game. Not really for my benefit, but I will keep a look out as this trailer has definitely peaked my interest.

Yes, it will be a loot grind. That's essentially the entire point of the game. Yes you will need the DLC to continue progressing. If you don't want to do either of those, Destiny is not the game for you. End of story.
Because they want you to buy and play Destiny 2, not get overloaded on content with Destiny 1.

Because one of the main things I hoped for in the sequel was a few entirely new classes.

I mean, it's the overall tone that people are talking about. Obviously there will be more to say once they reveal gameplay, but after being burned by Destiny 1, people are viewing all of these trailers with skepticism and caution, because we don't want to shell out a bunch of money for a game that ends up disappointing.
And, uh, sorry for discussing a game on a game discussion forum, i guess?
People did research, but Bungie falsely advertised the game. They showed footage of stuff that was never put into the original game (or even the game in its current state), said it would be an open world MMO, etc.
Also, plenty of people who gripe about Destiny also love many aspects of the game. If people didn't like the game, they wouldn't be invested enough to discuss and critique it. You can enjoy some aspects of a game while still critiquing other glaring problems in it.
