They can pre-order deez nutz.

I bought the PS4 special bundle, game was garbage.

I think I'm going to need to see more and wait for release this time. I no longer have faith in Ubisoft.

Edit: Ooopsie meant Bungie. XD

The stupid in this thread is incredibly strong. Nothing like a Destiny thread to bring out some of GAF's slightly dimmer bulbs...

Trailer itself is great. In line with what I expected, makes me have faith Bungie is moving in the right direction with this game.

Awesome teaser, great trailer. Ran the new Crota Hard Run tonight with buddies, reserved my limited edition PC, and will order the digital deluxe version on Xbox One tomorrow. Expectations in check, ready for the mad hype.

I'm quite suprised that the trailer got so much positive feedback.
For me it was one of the most boring reveal trailers ever. It didn't know if it wanted to be funny or serious. And I think I learned nothing about the game apart from it's existance.
Though the loot line got me chuckling a bit.

I liked Destiny and played vanilla for quite some time, but probably not nearly enough to get a ticket on the hype train.

And LOL at that 250$ collector's edition. Bungie's crazy.

It's most likely Activision who comes up with the pricetags?

Also it'll be sold out in no time (if not already)

Vague and sweeping statement of condescension, lovely.

Is it crazy to price your collectors edition properly for the extreme fans? Bungie and Act know what they have. Destiny is the premier coOp, loot game of the generation and it's going to sell ridiculously well.

It's ridiculous hubris to offer preorders and a $250 collectors edition off this trailer and Bungie did it without batting an eye. Why? Because Destiny 2 is a freight train of hype and gigantic expectations.

Vague and sweeping statement of condescension, lovely.

He's not wrong though.

I didn't play the game past vanilla, but man I hope they have more crazy plasma alien guns this time around. The non-exotics and even many of the exotics felt so damn plain for a game that revolves around loot.

Totally. I became fixated on fusion rifles because they were the one unique weapon in the game.

Strange how you confuse lack of hype/disappointment for stupidity.

lmao $250 satchel edition, expansion pass out of the gate yet again.

Game is looking like ass already; won't fool me this time Bungie

Thought the tone of the trailer was awful. D1 was so lacking in story and personality that people seem willing to take anything and look at it as an improvement. The writing for Cayde continues to be cringe worthy. It's like Nathan Fillion doing a bad parody of himself.

I'm glad we're starting over from scratch progression wise. The premise of the story seems promising. If they pull it off, it could be amazing. I still have no reason to believe Bungie is capable of righting the ship though. Hope I'm wrong.

There is mountains and mountains of drive by posting and concern trolling in this thread. Not to mention tons of posts filled with factual inaccuracies.

I don't agree with the tone / way that poster phrased it, but there is a lot noise.

Not sure you can substantiate that claim. I'm a Destiny player and I was accused of concern trolling because I critiqued the trailer. I could just as easily say this thread is full of fanboys who can't stand Destiny being criticized, but I know that's not true either.

I can absolutely substantiate that claim.

We have to have at least 100 posts calling Cayde Deadpool alone

So... PC... Well, looks like I may take a swing at Destiny 2 come this September. They also specifically mentioned Solo in addition to other modes, so that's cool as well. It will be interesting to see improvements to various systems.

Also, this year just won't stop!

Destiny is an online game with paid expansions. This isn't a bad thing. It's designed that way on purpose. Why is that so hard to understand?

This trailer really upped the snark on Cayde.

No it didn't . If you played TTK this is directly in line with Cayde.

I agree, that trailer made the gameplay look so awful. It was still exactly the sa...

Hang on, that trailer had no gameplay and was purely a CGI teaser to introduce some of the story elements.

How do you know it looks like ass then? Have I missed something?

The writing for Cayde was bad in TTK. I find it really hard to believe that people genuinely think this trailer was in line with that though. They're definitely playing it up way more than was present in that expansion. Whether you think it works or not is subjective.

And that's including quotes.

I was exaggerating. Obviously

Again, there's a ton of noise in here. But that's every non Community Destiny thread on GAF. I want the damn game to hurry up and just come out that way it'll all quiet down.

I have no problem with people having issues with Destiny 1 or the trailer. But reading pages of "Destiny is garbage", we'll there's not a whole lot of depth to that conversation.

Fair enough. Then how do you feel about drive by "day one" powers? Are they adding a whole lot of depth to that conversation?

I've only one question - will this game have heavy focus on actually interesting and meaningfull story and characters this time around? I mean, say what you will about the first game and how good it was in terms of FPS mechanics and gunplay, but everything else was shit and not a type of game that Bungie would make (HALO series, which is first and foremost story driven games and really good ones I may add). I just want a really good SP in this cool universe they've made, nothing else matters to me.

You're absolutely right, I can't argue with that. Fans will certainly rip it out of their hands. But that doesn't mean Bungie / Activision should do it.
I think it should be priced a bit more reasonable.

I don't think the bag will hold up to similar bags priced $150 - $200. Of course that's not the point here, the point is to milk the cow. It's just that it shouldn't be this way. There should be something more decently priced to appeal to all fans.

A lot of fans would love to own this but won't because they simply can't afford it (I'm leaving out availability). And that's a shame.

I have played TTK. They upped his snark.

They did, yeah. In comparison to TTK, this feels like a somewhat caricatured version of him, although it should obviously be kept in mind we're talking about a ~2 minute long marketing trailer.

That said, as someone who didn't like the trailer much at all the first time around, I'm cool with it after a second watch. There's some charm there. I do hope future material doesn't overuse Cayde, though, especially if they're going to present him in such a one-dimensional way.

With the volume on? Seriously his snark is a major part of the story. It's pretty out there.
Yes. He was snarky and goofy and the obvious Comic relief in TTK. He is still way snarkier in that trailer. Cayde was a semi-serious character in TTK. He was dropping witty banter every now and then as a comedic relief. This is a trailer where, presumedly, millions are dead from the Last City being destroyed and they are on the brink of complete loss and he is just a broken overrunning faucet of what he was in TTK. In TTK, when you defeat the Bond Brothers, Cayde shows a side of seriousness basically saying "you really showed them what being a guardian is all about". There are plenty of moments where he plays it serious. This trailer just has him being a caricature of himself.

I ownall the Destiny content outside of Rise of Iron. The content from the first expansion pass was terrible, and overpriced for what it was.

The terrible logo, the awful human Guardian art, the hubris required announce a $250 edition of a game with no gameplay, selling a 2 part expansion pass when the first one was awful, etc.

All this combined with the fact that Destiny 1 was butt

Is this Trailer cannon though? Or is just marketing?

Having not played this game for a while now: Will I finally be able to do matchmaking raids?

Please don't tell me about finding groups online or how important it is that you form a fireteam to take on the raids. I just want to do raids through matchmaking.

LMAO 😂 And yet you haven't even seen the game.

You know you don't have to buy the $250 dollar version right? And its already sold out with people who have more money than sense.

Destiny 1's story was scrapped at the last minute and pieced together frankenstein like. i'd imagine they woudn't have those kind of problems again

though my expectations are pretty abysmal for a compelling campaign personally. and i don't really mind... plenty of other games for that stuff

i don't agree, he's always been this snarky.
