That's what Sony customer service told me. This is after having me try everything to get my code to work (which it finally just did 6 hours later) So take it with a grain of salt.

They told me the problem was with Bungie at one point and had me on their website on the destiny code portal (which is nine characters not twelve) So yeah... i work in customer service and I know when someone is throwing off my scent. I spoke to that guy's "manager" and he said the "game releases" at 12 PST for everyone so I should just wait. He said it was a surprise thing they weren't announcing and at that point I was pretty annoyed so I just accepted it. I hope it's true, if it's not I will keep my eyes peeled for extra codes to get them up in here.

Cross posting this from the impression thread for those who have/willhave problems downloading it:

For slow downloads try using google or open dns settings on your network connection: use 8.8.8.8 as primary dns and 8.8.4.4 as secondary. You can find this in settings->network connection. Select your connection and use manual settings. Use default/automatic for every screen and use those above settings when you get to DNS.
