That's really weird. You should have received a lanyard with a code on the back for some free stuff. Then, following the conference, there was about 30 minutes of extra coverage for several of the games shown. At the end, Keighley explained what the code was for.

This is how NOT to do a promotion for a game, it just angers the rabbid fanbase that are interested in this type of promotion in the first place, that and the fact that it's 6.7GB makes many people waste the valuable play time downloading the damn thing instead of "testing" it aka deciding whether to preorder or not.
