No being funny at all, but I haven't noticed any slowdown at all so far. I am level 4 and played about 2 hours.

The only part that was slightly sub-30 feeling to me was the intro scene outside right after the ghost finds you. But once you entered the building I haven't seen any framedrops anywhere, not inside, not on the vast open plains. Rather impressed.

i mean i'm racking up kills with hip fire (though the moon map is too large for it sometimes) but i still am not a fan of ads

It's a good option for long range combat. The problem with ADS is when a game makes you requre it, if it's there as an option then it's great imo.

Guys what exactly are precision kills? Headshots or only ADS kills?

Precicion hits, head shots, when you see a crit dmg and they die.

Just to write that this is a great game.
It's solid, very solid, steel sphere solid or something like that .

Loads are too long.

Back to Destiny now.

Same on ps3. Not noticed any slowdown at all.

I come from a PC gaming background where 60fps is my standard, and even though the visuals look a little sluggish due to the lower frames, Bungie have done a really good job at making it
feel
smooth.

It's satisfying forcing enemies behind cover, sprinting to their blind side, sliding next to their cover, popping up and meleeing them in the back.

Overall I am impressed with this game. The score is great, like good sci-fi movie evoking a sense of whimsy good.

One thing I'll say as a negative is that I haven't had any encounters like I used to in Halo. At times, in Halo CE, it was like I was playing PvP against some Elites.

And the best part of it was that it felt random, some Elites were easy to kill, others were an absolute nightmare. This was on Legendary though, and I haven't tried the harder difficulties in Destiny yet, but so far all the enemies seem to act the same.

It's not bad AI, it's just not as good as Bungie's previous efforts.

This game desperately needs a better invite feature.

I'm solo exploring and I encounter other players, I should be able to hit a single button to invite them to party up. Why the fuck isn't that possible. I don't want to have to send messages through the PS4 XMB just to invite some random for questing.

Man this game is just too good. My hunter is level 5 and still looks like a generic biker/noob. I don't even have a Cape, it just looks like a backwards ascot. Can't wait for more epic armor.

Has anyone bought a different ship? I've been saving pretty much every penny, haven't bought any gear, and at lvl 6 1/2 I have 1969 Glimmer. The ship I want is 2700G ;)

2 new crucible maps too, on Mars and Venus.
Yeah, it'll unlock after the level 5 story mission, when you return to the tower.
I've played like 20 Control games and I haven't played the Mars map yet, just Venus and the moon. How many PVP maps are there in total?

Click R3 while you are looking at them and then click the options button.

Damn. My skills are finally capped. We definitely got way more toys to play with than the Alpha. Thank you, based Bungie. All I wanted was more Warlock skills for the Beta and you guys delivered.

Wish they would straight up give you a message though. Something like "You can no longer gain XP toward your subclass in the beta."

I just turned in a bounty for 2500 XP and I looked at my subclass skill tree before and after.

Doesn't budge any more. And doing a story mission shows that now only my weapons are gaining XP. No more skills in the "Advancement" section post mission.

Here's a picture of my skill tree to the point where I'm not gaining any more XP:

I've been watching specifically the lower left most skill (3rd Grenade: Axion Bolt) for the past hour. Doesn't budge even a millimeter beyond that point any more. Again though, no complaints. They gave us like 5-6 more skills than in the Alpha.

Will finally be moving on to a new class.

Are you pressing R3 when looking at them to bring up a context menu? It requires some steps to invite strangers, but not too bad.

Got destroyed in my first crucible match in beta ;p I love the Scout Rifles for PvE but I just can't kill a damn thing with it in PvP, unfortunately the only uncommons I've picked up have been Scouts..except for a lvl9 Auto.

Yup agree. I love the skirmishes, gives me that Halo feedback loop

Well, I like the R2D2 noises the Ghost makes and the more robotic voice. Kinda sad to see the corny lines removed, though.

I was really hoping to see more from the Beta. This is even less than my pessimistic prediction. This is not that much more than what the Alpha was. I really wanted to see a new area.

I thought there wasn't enough difference between the classes when you start the game in the Alpha and now there's even less. I thought it would have been a good idea to give everyone something different, so that people could get a feel for each class in a few seconds. The way it is right now, people will have to play a couple of story missions to even see the jump and grenades.

An awesome fellow GAFfer gifted me a code earlier and it is finally finished downloading. It's past 6am and I haven't slept yet but my oh my I want to just dive right into this. Especially since if I fall asleep now I probably won't wake up until I have to work!

I'm gonna try to sleep for 30 minutes and if I don't fall asleep, all nighter it is.

Tell me about it. I hate PvP in games like these because I feel out matched through no fault of my own.

Seriously? Thanks a lot, will give this a try once I encounter a fellow guardian.

It gives you a few options like the ability to inspect their equipment, invite to a fire team, and view their psn profile. You can do this in the tower and out in the world.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
They took the line out?!

They seriously went and took the best line in the script out? They removed "That Wizard came from the moon".

Pre-order cancelled!

Also, really loving the game. This'll likely end up my most played game of 2014. There's a bit too much loading and the story is a bit disjointed. The new Venus battleground is really fun. Multiplayer is a blast. Having a character that grows with you matters so much.

You still have to send out a message, then he Needs to Switch out of the game, go to the message and accept it. Then i think , the one you have invited, is teleported back to the last checkpoint.

For a game that has so many MMO/Multiplayer elements, the invite System is very annoying. It should be 1-2 button presses with an instant ingame-invite.

I have a feeling the lines will make a return as easter eggs...

You will almost certainly get to see more than just Old Russia, it's likely that the Moon will be unlocked sometime next week.

The classes become drastically different as they increase in level. By level 20 each fits a specific role in the party.

Why do you feel out matched? You can buy and find all those weapons, when you go to crucible everyone is equalized. No one really is at disadvantage unless you did not buy/ and or discover them.

Yeah, it needs some serious improvement.

Someone who is standing in front of you shouldn't need to go all the way the fuck back to space in order to join your fireteam. They should instantly turn green as soon as they accept the invite, and you should both be on your merry way. Instead they're forced through two excruciatingly long loading screens for no reason. WTF???

In the vanilla WoW days I used to spend more time goofing about in the Alliance cities then actually questing.

Same for me with the first Guild Wars. Standing around in Droknar's Forge, dancing, spamming trade, bickering in local, showing of items made up as much time as loot hunting or levelling characters.

Welp. I found a max damage (for level 8) sniper rifle with an ability that gives me back one sniper ammo every time I kill something with it.

So as long as I stick with one shot one kill, I effectively have infinite ammo.

I am god.
Damn; do you remember where you found it, or was it a drop?
