Destiny House of Wolves Reveal Thread

I was so hyped for this stream, and I just can't watch this one. The last two were amazing, informative, and got to the point. I stopped this one after "How do you say 'stop' in cabal? (screaming)"

Yeah, Broman can tone it down a bit. But I mean...I guess that's how alot of twitch streamers act.

eh, not necessarily

Jeff Green (of Computer Gaming World fame/EA) is pretty reserved and pleasant to listen to. He certainly doesn't try to just diarrhea out of the month in hopes of having something funny come out.

I ask because I've only played the base game - havent dipped into any of the DLC. If I were to come back it'd be to play this, but my characters are in their mid-20s. Maybe 25-26, if that? The legend section of Bungie.net seems down or I'd check ;p

So I see this arena and it looks like my kind of thing, but its level based so I'm not sure how much "work" I'll need to do to get to it in the first place, and how I can the arena to progress from that point forward.

If you only have 30 minutes to play and will have to abruptly leave when your child starts crying, I don't want to attempt a hard mode run with you. That's why there isn't match-making. It keeps people with limited ability to commit out of the player pool.

Then make your own fireteam and let others matchmake knowing that's a possibility.

What if I, say, only have 30 minutes to an hour play Destiny. My daughter is taking a nap and I just want to hop in and attempt the level 32 playlist before she wakes up.

Why would I want to waste previously time trying to find a group, sending invites and waiting for invitations?
So you know what time you're going to be available and can ask gaf ahead of time if anyone is free at this time?

I hope you realize the raid takes up to 40 minutes to complete. So if you don't have those 40 minutes, then maybe destiny isn't for you?

No but he isn't as bad as everyone is saying. people are overreacting.

Yes.... yes he is

He's a fucking grown man with nearly 900k people watching and he's acting like a 10 year old. It's so bad that the damn community manager is visibly uncomfortable and has barely said anything when he usually does most of the talking.

Well, i don't mean old guard like that. I mean young'ns who really want to become popular, and they think that having a persona like pewdiepie or markiplier(who tend to be loud..) will work out for them.

That's the thing though Matchmaking should exist but if someone only has a limited amount of time and not enough time to finish a raid than he shouldn't be raiding with matchmaking or without.

You can get to level 31 in Destiny without ever playing a raid. You can buy armor from the Vanguard class vendors to get there.

Given the new upgrade paths, I would not expect that much. In the first DLC, the story mode was used to give you the experience and tools needed to ensure you are the right level for other activities. Given that this does not unlock until you've cleared the story, I'd imagine the story and the related drops are intended to get you ready for the Prison.

I think I have seen enough of the stream to know what it will be. Can't handle that dude anymore.

Can't wait to see the industry navel-gazing after this again: "Why won't others (outside the medium) takes us serious? We're a huge industry!"

Grind rep faction to buy faction gear and then jump to crota unless base vendor got upgraded to get lv 32 light

crappy warlock jump got Deej killed

replace it in Destiny 2 pls thx

Let's forget the 30 minute number and say you have just about enough time to finish whatever activity if you start within the next 10 minutes or so. Matchmaking allows that to happen.

You miss the point -- the other people in match making do not want you to bail because you decided to cram in a play session when you probably shouldn't have.

No one does, but if the alternative is that I don't get to play at all, I'll take the risk (or at least would like the option to) of having to match up with someone that might have to leave.

No let's not forget that number because if that's the time he is saying. Matchmaking should exist but that's definitely a negative if someone is matchmaking and can't actually invest the time to finish whatever.

It sounds great... except for the got damn exclusion of match-making from the "Challenge" mode

Come the f*ck on, Bungie. Stop gating the highest rewards by not including match-making.

these guys have wiped several times now on this mode. the arenas obviously aren't in farm status yet, but from what's being shown here the more difficult challenges don't seem like they'll be friendly for matchmade groups.

at least this time the content is playable with matchmaking.

For me, Horde mode < Raid, even with the admittedly generous variances.

Curious how long it will take to run the 34 with minimal wipes. That 365 Vision of Confluence is calling me

No, yes.

To give access to more of the endgame content to the masses. To ensure there is still something for the more hardcore players who like more difficult activities.

We don't know, yet, but I'm sure that is coming soon.

I'd be perfectly fine if they only omitted match-making for the 35 playlist. Maybe even the 34 playlist too. But only providing match-making feels like a big "f*ck you" to all 30+ players, like myself, who were already restricted from "end game" activities because they don't have an active group or clan to play with.

Destiny's "End Game" continues to be extremely unfriendly to any player who just wants to casually play the game. I really do enjoy the core mechanics of Destiny. But Bungie's attitude towards the end game and match-making has pushed me away as both a company fan and a customer.

The number isn't important. It's hypothetical. What matters is the mount of time you have to play and how that time is used.

Deej is so uncomfortable in this stream..

I believe he must be very much regretting bringing Broman into this. DUde single handily ruined the stream.

Waiting for the stream to end and someone to post it on Youtube... my work is blocking the stream.

Edit: Any bullet points on actual details learned about the mode yet? How rewards/currencies work, etc?

As these streaming goofballs are proving with their constant wipes, it's going to be difficult to estimate how long an activity might take.

I'm astounded at people that would rather risk a poor match-making experience than they would go to the trouble of finding like 2 people. Putting together raids can be rough, but finding two for this is not exactly time consuming.

Right. Raids take a significant amount of time, and in a lot of situations losing just one team member males things near impossible, or if not extremely frustrating for everyone else involved.

You can't just expect to match make in for just one tiny part. It just doesn't work that way.
