But if it was developed alongside the console versions it's not really a port tho?
It's just another version.
I tend to look at multi platform releases in 2 ways.
A "port" being, literally here is the same game with added video options and mouse and keyboard controls, maybe a bit better graphics here and there. No changes to gameplay etc. Nothing bad about these, but doesnt really make use of the platform or control scheme.
"PC version" which takes things a step further, things like what they did with Destiny 2 with the recoil to still provide challenge, then other things like UI changes that work better with M&KB (Mass Effect 1, Deus Ex etc), and additionally graphics settings that go way beyond console capabilities.
These days, games are developed and play tested primarily for use on a console/gamepad etc, so nearly everything about a game is built to play well on a controller, with all the various tweaks that come with it to make it enjoyable. When they come to PC, the gamepad focus typically ends up making the game a breeze to playthrough with M&KB. I like what they did with Destiny 2, attempting (no matter how small it may be) to maintain some form of difficulty when using M&KB. Crysis for example, is clearly tailored for the M&KB, you need to land headshots for quick kills, with precise shots as the hitboxes (I think anyway) were exact to the enemy soldiers you are shooting at, a lot of console shooters typically make these bigger or have the aim adjust slightly. All little things that add up.
Not that it matters for Destiny 2, the game was always a gamepad shooter first, but again I really do like that they are going the extra mile for the PC version (while leaving the exact same gamepad controls etc in). Icing on the cake is how good looking and smooth the game is.
