I also think digital needs all the benefits it can to offset the disadvantages. Preload + an actual midnight unlock is very convenient compared to going out and getting the game.

And yet so many titles come out 9pm west coast time. I get that Destiny is a bigger game, so I guess? But then they should have just made it so East Coast could get on midnight their time, and made West Coast wait until midnight their time.

Whatever.

Yes, but for a company that loves digital (since it cuts out the middle man), they sure aren't making it enticing. :p

I'm being facetious. I'm not that bothered by it personally, because I'm on the West Coast. But I still think it's shitty to not allow digital East Coast/CST people to have a midnight launch, while everyone else can.

The reason it's locked to 3am is so that GameStop can have their midnight launches. If they unlocked the digital at midnight EST, no one would go to their shitty pawn shop stores because they could play earlier by buying digital.

GameStop threatens to not stock a publisher's merchandise if they don't meet every demand GameStop gives them.

They are the worst.

i don't know if i'll make it to 3 am. i was hoping sony would be bros and would surprise us with an early unlock but now i'm just hoping the servers don't explode at 3am when the explosion of players happens.

I'm waiting for my brother and friend to get here. While I preordered from Amazon, they're getting it from Walmart so they should be here soon. I want to watch them play for a few before I drift off into the Sleep Realm.

I thought about that, but it could also be getting the community to go out to local retail stores like Best Buy. Best Buy has been drained for years just like GameStop has to the better pricing and marketing online. Consumers who shop in stores don't see the digital age.

Holy mission variety Batman. Im getting bored with the 'goto this place, Tyrion scans and defend against waves of enemies' missions. Im in Venus already and so far every single mission has been exactly that.

I was at Best Buy in Greenwood Indiana, about 25 people there. While we waited outside, this loud mouth guy asked, "what system you all getting it for?" Majority said PS4, then he said "well who is getting it on Xbox?" 4 people said they were.


It was the total opposite of what it sounds like at your store....Since all who preordered waited in the same line, and I was toward the end, I didn't see any more than those 4 with Xbox versions....


They also sold 6 Destiny White PS4 models......like a fourth of the people bought the PS4 bundle, it was crazy.....


Installing now.....

xbox 360 version here. Tried to start Destiny (disc version) and get a Error that tells me to go to help.bungie.net and search cattle. lol

Also, I paid for the expansion packs and when I entered the code, it instead gave me a monetary credit into my account, hmm.

Valdosta Ga here...There was a TON of people at my local gamestop. 200 easy. I bet the mall had just as many or more...I was surprised. Cant even sign into the servers...sigh.

This seems silly though. The vast majority of console gamers are going to buy retail copies regardless of the digital unlock time.

Midnight doesn't hit for another 15 minutes or so where I live and I'm debating going over to Walmart near me, like across the street almost to see if they'll have a white PS4 bundle available....does anyone know if walmarts are supposed to have these? I want Destiny, but I also would prefer to have the white console.
