1) the gameplay was shit
2) the character design was shit

Artoon are doing the coding, and the game is being designed and "art'ed" elsewhere.

Dark Cloud did not deserve the shit it got. That was a solid game, and the potential was VERY obvious. Unlike Stinx and everything else Artoon puts out.

Well, to be fair, with Level 5, the progression they made from DC1 to DC2 showed alot of promise.

Artoon, on the other hand, hasn't really delivered anything that has shown as much improvement...

Uh, no. Dark Cloud 1 was disappointing, but no "shitheap," and Dark Cloud 2 was excellent.

Crying? No.

I haven't played DQVIII, so I won't comment on that.

But Dark Cloud 1 was ok, and Dark Cloud 2 was fucking phenomenal.

Blinx 1 and 2, Yoshi Gravitational... they just pretty much sucked ass.
