Devil May Cry 3 = $24.99 @ ebgames.com

Still holding out since I wouldn't have time to play it now, and by the time I will, I'm hoping we'll know for sure if the Special Edition is coming out here, and if not it'll be a GH by then anyway. If you've got the time for it definetely go for this though.

And wario, you might as well edit your post to put this but "no, the special edition has not been confirmed/stated for EU/NA audiences." It's a Japan only thing (as of now). The Japanese release date is set for Q1 of next year, sooo...even if it is coming to the US it's going to be awhile before such happens. But you'd imagine the delay in Japan (which makes it miss the Holidays) is for a reason, maybe.

Is this in-store?

I guess it is. Although it's kind of strange, the game was 49.99 for 9 months, and as of 3 days ago dropped to 24.99? okaaay EB...but apparently from EB's website, it's in-store. Strange how it also lists the new and used prices to be same.

What the hell?

There's no sales tax in Oregon? Huh?

That is correct, Oregon has no sales tax. They do, however, have a state income tax (unlike Washington, which has no state income tax but has sales tax). My fiance has to go down to Portland on business regularly, so we try and work it out so I can go with... free weekends at the Hilton Executive Towers rule.

I picked up DMC3 at an EBGames over the weekend.

No they haven't but it doesn't take someone with 150 I.Q. to realize that the release of it in NA is basically *Agent Smith voice*"INEVITABLE".

Soooo I'd say if your rather short on money and can't wait then you might as well get this or if have patience then you better wait.

There has been a lot of things Capcom released that were "Japan-Only"

I wouldn't call it inevtable...

And what is Capcom waiting for? For CHRISTMAS -to end- and for the 360 to come in full swing? /sarcasm/

The japn release date is December 31 and considering that date doesn't get pushed into 06, a month later release for the US version won't be a new thing. DMC3 was released in japn 20 or so days earlier than in NA.

But if you also look at the sales figures, DMC in general does a lot better in NA in terms of sales rather than in Japn so it only makes sense for Capcom to release it in NA as well.

Just got this in the mail today, quick question. For someone who is not a DMC expert (have only beat the first game on normal), what's the best style to start with to make the early levels less painful?

Go with Trickster.

www.thehandvseye.com

(click the trailer that plays to take to the main site)

All boss video FAQ's, secret mission video FAQ's, all cutscenes etc. etc.

I suggest Trickster Style. It has -amazing- depth (as in, staying in the air infinitely type of depth baby) but at the same time, it's simple, it's all one button to do dashes. And what's awesome is that Dante is 100% invincible during the dash frames.

R3 (right analog stick push in) = Reset Camera behind Dante.

For those still worried about DMC3's difficulty: here is a nice review of the game that isn't pro-challenge like IGN, or anti-challenge like 1up, they address the difficulty, but don't run off with it for the entire damn review. It's a great middle-ground opinion.

Gitaroo, you should watch that too. It has some nice cancel points in there to give you a feel of the combo. Basically, DMC3 has an infinite combos system. There is no limit to it. The only limit is your imagination. 100% free-form.

Some basic tips:

Press Start and save in-mission. Although that doesn't save your location, it does 'bank' your orbs etc., so that if you die, your experience is still logged in.

Explore explore explore! To say that mission 3 has 3 blue orb fragments (before the Cerberus boss fight) surprises most people. Check all doors (by pressing O) as they usually lead to secret mission locations. Buy blue orbs, avoid purchasing yellow orbs, and instead, invest in small vital stars. Always mix up your combo's, to get higher ranks, higher ranks equal more orbs, more orbs equal more buying of healing items, more buyin of healing items equal easier game.

Press start, menu, file listings, to watch video clips on how to do some of the various moves. PUT THE TUTORIAL SETTING ON --ON!-- A lot of people bitch the game is too hard, how many of those fuckers watched the short yet ever so important tutorial? Yeah, that's right...
