Devil May Cry 3 screens

Funny, other than the graphics, the original DMC is still better than NG, despite Itagaki's best attempts to rip off every possible element of its design.

Creating an action/adventure game with a more coherent game design structure, a better arsenal of moves which makes the entire enviroment your battleground to use, better puzzles, more acrobatic platforming elements, more intutitive battle system where you don't have to worry about the camera angles changing on your when you are fighting in the enviroment, and tighter control -not to mention a much longer game- is a failure on expanding on the elements of DMC? Could have fooled me. The only thing Ninja Gaiden didn't improve on DMC is the cheesy story. Ninja Gaiden smokes Devil May Cry on so many levels it isn't even a contest. Maybe you like DMC more, and that is fine. But as far as comparing them as coherent games, this is like comparing Street Fighter 2 (More in depth, tighter control, better design) to Mortal Kombat (Less depth which relies more on flash above substance but still a good game). I love DMC (Don't like DMC2 that much though) and I'd like to get my hands on the DMC3 demo, but don't go tossing around foolish comments about Ninja Gaiden when it improved on the DMC formula one thousand fold.

The screeens look fine. When does this come out? March?

For god's shake, the game looks much better than that screen, and I doubt they have managed to make the game ugly from E3 and TGS demos.

So, horrible captures. The game is amazing given the past demos, I won't go into Ninja Gaiden comparation right now (and as fantastic as it is Ninja Gaiden I don´t see such superiority at gameplay against Devil May Cry, both have their own good and bad things and borth are fantastic in my opinion). But the styles of DMC 3 give it a ton of variety and some interesting twists about how do you play this type of games.

By the way MrBob, what a intereting title do you have, its the first time I see an animated one ;)

Not bad, I guess. The textures look like a low resolution, ugly mess in some spots. At least it looks better than Devil May Cry 2, which was all I was hoping for. I'm a huge Devil May Cry fan, and from what I've seen, this may end up being the best iteration in the series. It kind of reminds me of Ninja Gaiden (not graphically, of course) with the neon lights and the new "vigoorian flail" type weapon. This is a must buy for me.

On another note, Ryuhei Kitamura's over-the-top action style is much better suited for Devil May Cry, than Metal Gear Solid.

hopefully we can dress him up in tight leather mini skirts and make up after we beat the game.
what? dont give me that look, they started it with that horrendous character design, not my fault for wanting to take it a step farther.

Good graphics are always nice, but in this day and age with a billion shitty games coming out, I just want something that is fun to play. If this is anything like DMC1 I will be happy.

Agreed! If the game turns out to be fun to play the I'm the first in line to get a copy. DMC2 was such a disappointment. Not only did I beat it in a day, but I was mad that the franchise took a nose dive in my opinion. It wasn't awful, but it just didn;t have the same flare. I'm holding my breath on DMC3. Not to turn this into a my dad can whip your dad thread, but Ninja Gaiden did raise the bar substantially. Spoiled my taste for a lot of action game out there now. DMC1 was the reason I kept my PS2 (after selling two PS2 before because of not having anything I was craving). I just want this game to be good, and I'm hoping because it's been a while since we've seen anything in this franchise, that we may be in for a treat. I hope so......

Color me confused. But how is saying you prefer DMC to Ninja Gaiden a troll? I mean this is a Devil May Cry 3 thread.

Seriously, that post by Scoot was one of the most retarded I've ever seen and this is GAF.

MAXI?!?! IS THAT YOU!?

I'm digging what i percieve to be a variety of fighting styles.. but damn. Ps2's gettin' old.
