The End said:Funny, other than the graphics, the original DMC is still better than NG, despite Itagaki's best attempts to rip off every possible element of its design.
Creating an action/adventure game with a more coherent game design structure, a better arsenal of moves which makes the entire enviroment your battleground to use, better puzzles, more acrobatic platforming elements, more intutitive battle system where you don't have to worry about the camera angles changing on your when you are fighting in the enviroment, and tighter control -not to mention a much longer game- is a failure on expanding on the elements of DMC? Could have fooled me. The only thing Ninja Gaiden didn't improve on DMC is the cheesy story. Ninja Gaiden smokes Devil May Cry on so many levels it isn't even a contest. Maybe you like DMC more, and that is fine. But as far as comparing them as coherent games, this is like comparing Street Fighter 2 (More in depth, tighter control, better design) to Mortal Kombat (Less depth which relies more on flash above substance but still a good game). I love DMC (Don't like DMC2 that much though) and I'd like to get my hands on the DMC3 demo, but don't go tossing around foolish comments about Ninja Gaiden when it improved on the DMC formula one thousand fold.
The screeens look fine. When does this come out? March?
