how do you fit an optical disc drive inside that? ....
I don't think disc drives are that big. The slot loader inside my macbook is not much bigger than the disc itself.

External PSU makes me sad.

I hope it's the former personally. Another point for simple, more robust design. Could argue that it makes it seem cheaper but these things make it look more like a game console to me for some reason and also it'll last longer.Got lot of room for it.
But I'm wondering will Sony go for slide/swing door, or suck-in or tray blu-ray slot?

What do the new Xperias look like? I can't keep up with smartphones.

how does that compare to the Wii U?
edit: comparing this to the Wii U, this is actually smaller!
Orbis: 25cm deep x 14cm long x 10cm high vs
Wii U: 27cm deep x 17cm long x 4.5 cm high
Orbis is just two inches thicker, but not as wide or long! I seriously don't believe that!

14cm is too short, discs are 11cm. Wii is 21cm. top loader maybe?
PS2s grill is disgusting, aside from liking the system itself, how could anyone genuinely desire a repeat of that design?Yeah the new Xperias wow me. I love the textural looking on the back.
I would love to see PS2's grill looking again in new era.
Maybe.
MS is pretty inconsistent. The Surface is pretty much an ingenious combination of form and function while all the WP8 phones have looked ugly as hell. It really can go either way.
In case anyone missed my edited post. Heres how it compares to the Wii U. Its overall smaller! Twice as thick(this thing is fat!), but its shorter and a not as wide.

I dont know if I believe this... does Wii U have an external PSU?
Seeing the fatness in some of these shots it's hard to picture this thing looking sleek.
If they're real then the dimensions are odd that's for sure. But I'd imagine the console would not just be a plain brick shape. Maybe concave on the sides or something.Seeing the fatness in some of these shots it's hard to picture this thing looking sleek.
Doubt it will have a shitty disk tray. I'd be really surprised if they didn't have a slot loading drive.
Just look at the Mac Mini:

Yes.
Ever since it was confirmed there was no dedicated GPU, I assumed this thing would be fairly compact and low power. It's just an APU. The chip design is pretty simple, and manufactured on a small process. Nothing like launch ps3 or 360.
Another one, this time I just shrunk the phat PS3;

Here is one laptop bluray reader drive that Sony is manufacturing right now:

Yes.

No, but they have had a ton of input on the Nokia designs, to ensure they co-ordinate with the rebranding of Windows Phone. They're fairly responsible for what they did to make those look "different."MS hasn't made a WP yet.

I plead the fifth. If my source is right, Japan should be happy. I really can't talk about it at all.
I would guess that based on the designs of previous PlayStations, the PS4 will be wider than it is deep. With an asymmetrical disc slot. So the opposite of the WiiU, which is deeper than it is wide.
So the PS4 is likely to be:
25cm Width x 14cm Depth x 10cm Height
This....
