Diablo 3 Beta [Beta withdrawal underway!]

I guess I understood you can map skills and heal potion as hotkeys. Now I understand how to move. Male monk looks badass. Female demon hunter looks silk. Witch Doctor looks... Interesting. Barbarian and Wizard looks a bit boring (understand not so original) to me. I really wish I can try this beta to try the game. I feel like I could like it. But I'm way too curious to wait and to buy it full price just to try the genre

I'm pretty sure the answer is in the name. "Friends and Families" of Blizzard employees.

Let me be the one to point out the sharp knees: Why do all the videos and screenshots look so jaggy? Isn't AA in yet?

Because recording a game at max settings or streaming and then saving is a huge hit on the CPU?

There are lots of recorded/streamed videos with good amounts of AA and max quality settings.

You just need a beefy rig and a SSD.

When I looked in the options, it's not in by default yet. It can probably be forced, though.

FSAA is off in beta. That said I'm sure you can force it with Nvidia at least if you know how but I would guess most people just start up the beta and start playing. Thus no FSAA
 
Yo Yoshi you alive bro? How's that beta :(? There's a disturbing lack of impression / screenshots / high res clips that aren't from stream/youtube.
 
I can't really remember but were there suppose to be mana orbs as well? Is the mana (resource) regen buffed for the beta? It seems waaaay too fast.
I don't want to be able to spam skills like that.

EDIT: Oh, and when watching the DH video i noticed once his Hatred has depleted it begins shooting regular arrows (even though a skill is bound to left click).
IIRC, that wasn't the case in D2 and certainly a welcome change!
 
I'd give some, but the game is crashing on the character creation screen, so I can't even create a character at the moment. Seems like a pretty common problem going by the forum too.
 
I haven't really folllowed the thread or beta impressions, but with people playing the beta, are people actually more hyped about the game now or is it still the same "waaah waaa the game is ugly, the game is not dark enough, the graphics looks like wow" again?

I originally got the Halo 3 beta from the Bungie friends/family program.

I don't know a single person in the industry. Shit happens.

Basically FnF is just a blizzard employee taking your email and hooking you up, but in terms of NDA and whatnot their ass is on the line for your beta pleasure. Leaking stuff will get them fired so it's in their best interests to restrict it to people who are their friends and family and not random internet strangers who will post. "For the Lulz"

I think it's strange that while I've 'FnFed' for three things (including D3) it was never from the same employee twice.
 
For those of you in the F&F beta, did you receive your emails quickly after submitting your info to your contact at blizz or did it take awhile?

From past experience it can take a couple of days and it won't happen over the weekend :l

Take a while, i'm still waiting for my GF the mail, and she had been sumited 2 days ago.

you and me both buddy. I am still waiting for Skyrim, and I'm going to play Bastion and recently found my copy of Capsized on Steam which is amazing fun, but still...short lived.
