I got my first legendary from a nameless chest in Act 3 NM yesterday. Someone else on GAF got a legendary from a barrel or something. It's pretty ridiculous.

Right, and last night I killed Nightmare Diablo with a friend and got a blue. A single blue. I think its level was in the high 40's.

I have never once, once gotten a loot drop that was equal to are higher than my current level. Hence, back to the AH for gear.

Are loot drops tied to your character, or is it tied to the specific difficulty and Act? Is my character just too over-leveled for the content I'm running? Sure didn't feel that way on Hell though.

It's sad really. Because the gameplay in this game is just so fucking stellar.

Oh ok. I was looking at the forums where the blue mentioned this, and the link he put up mentions Boon, but the tooltip was showing the increased healing rune. I was confused for a sec.

I'm glad Sustenance didn't get nerfed. I've been using that, and it is awesome.

As of right now, the BoP change doesn't necessarily effect me too much (15% my Health is roughly the 3s Regen of it, give or take) but it'll be bad come Inferno. Sustenance is nice for Normal/Nightmare but when you spam the skill every ~2 seconds, BoP was just better.

I guess on one hand, it's nice to not HAVE to use BoP. On the other, Evasion tanking is an awful idea and just let us be balanced by itemizing for intense Spirit generation and spamming abilities. That sounds more Monk like anyway.

Glad I rushed a Wizard to Hell last night! I mean, I won't she'll probably get nerfed by then too but between my Monk, my DH, and my Wizard, something will come out okay!

Just you know guys, if you feel burned by D3 there is so little chance you won't get burned by T2.

But a game as big as Diablo will always have a small vocal minority that doesn't like this or that. Same has always been the case with WoW with people screaming murder at every corner on forums, yet the game still has 10 million subs in its 8 year...
Okay, well, us reasonable people who aren't bringing up sales and subscriptions in a discussion of gameplay quality will sit over here. You can join us later.

You can take Blizzards balls out of your mouth now. You're starting to mumble.

Diablo 2 wasn't a masterpiece of game design either, if you played it when it came out.

Game got average to high reviews even and everybody was bitching about something too.

Then the mists of time made people forget lots of stuff it didn't do right.

Same will be for D3,.

Why is this an acceptable excuse, exactly? Shouldn't Blizzard surpass LoD with Diablo 3, and not regress back to Diablo 2's launch state?

Only realized now the low min damage on bows. And I thought I scored I good deal there. Well back to the AH with you.

I didn't like LOD cause of all the shitty runes and quit playing it. So for me it already did.

But I know what you mean, it sucks you're dissapointed with the direction they took.

Drops are below the enemy levels that you killed. The worse of it is that Hell loot is also Level 47+ and they're just better than Nightmare Level 47+ loot. It's like they designed item drops from the bottom up and never realized that you can just get better loot from later Acts/difficulties. There's an obvious progression for loot but it actually dropping is behind character/game progression so you just see better things in the AH.

I have my concerns over the replay value, but I'll wait till I finish my goal of beating Infernal once before really going in depth of my issues.

Except the UI, there are several things I wish was changed about it. Pages/Gem being a new color, being able to move while the map is open, being able to set your character to follow anther person, being able to click on the minimap/main map and have the character path to a location, a way to drop items without having to drag them off the inventory, a way to see how your followers stats will change with a piece of gear before putting it on them, and for the game to have an option to list everything that changes with each piece of gear.

That's pretty sexist man :/

Let's not stoop to sexual orientation remarks. I have a lot of friends that are gay and while you may not mean it the way you say it your comment portrays "sucking balls" as something negative and reinforces stereotypes about gay people being weak.

Grow up.

I actually specced my build to try and get the most out of Dodge. Even in Nightmare, I was not dodging enough, and just a couple of hits meant death for me from elites etc. It really sucks that alot of our skills are dodge based, and yet it doesn't really work well.

It sucks that Sustenance doesn't work out well in Hell. Right now when I play with my friends, i'm pretty much keeping them alive from MoH.

I really like my monk, I just hope it's not a pain in the ass come Hell/Inferno.

D3 does a lot right that every flaw will be a feature in a few years. Expansions will help rectify things too. Gunna be gewd.

Diablo III is amazing, guys, sorry.

The only thing it needs is a revamped highend itemset, something that will happen SOON, I almost bet you on this one.

I really feel the skill/rune system is gonna get copied to hell (hur dur) in the upcoming years.

Now if only Blizz could fix the network issues :(

Haha, if someone says something sucks balls I sure as hell don't feel offended, lol.

Leveling up my Wizard right now. Enjoying it more then my Witch Doctor at the moment, feels like I have more viable skills to play with.

I can't tell if you're missing something or if there's some advanced level of sarcasm in here.

I ran Sustenance for most of Nightmare since BoP was pretty much unnecessary. Hell is where BoP gains value. It's hands down the best rune option and the others don't even really matter. Which, to be fair, is a problem as well so I hope they at least adjust things to fix it.

As far as Evasion is concerned, they need to do something to make it better before thrusting Evade tanking on us. Though on that note, I got the 15 Dodge Achievement last night. Somehow.

So is Nephelams Valor supposed to address this? If I run as a 60, and follow the Valor rules, would I start seeing respectable drops? I really like the concept of NV, if it works, it's just a shame that getting to level 60 is so dismal (loot wise).

I think the gameplay alone could be incentive to get my character to 60 though.

Whoa. You really ran with that one, didn't you....

Finished Act 3 last night by far the best of the first 3 Acts. I played Act 4 for about an hour and I have to say again Act 3 was so damn good. One of the best levels ever in a video game.

Back from my vacation and on that work grind again. I beat Act 3 last on normal finally. That cut scene at the end was amazing, but found the boss to be laughably easy for my Monk compared to the act 2 boss.

1 act away from co op fun times wooh wooh.

How much Magic Find do you have?

Someone also said that the game uses an average of a group's MF so even if you've got a bunch, you can still get screwed if your teammates don't.

I don't think it does. I'm pretty sure it only uses your personal MF value since the loot drops are individual (other players get their own loot drops on their end).

NV will fix most of it though you'll still get non-60 loot.

And, yeah, the progression to 60 is awkward since loot drops don't scale as fast as your progression so best stuff for your level is from later Acts/Difficulties. Considering how they mapped out minimum level requirements of everything (25 Nightmare, 50 Hell, 60 Inferno), you'd think they'd have a better idea of what level they wanted you to be at the end of each Act and tune the progression of drops better.

That and the aforementioned using Nightmare drops in Normal, Hell drops in Nightmare, etc. Easy way to trivialize the last bits of each mode. I just hope they don't fix the ability to just skip difficulties but I doubt that'll happen :(

Fairly certain Blizzard has said that MF%, GF%, and maybe even EXP% are all shared among characters in a game. Not sure why it's not shared with a small bonus so there's at least some incentive :/

Yay! Ding lvl 60 wizard ♥

NV has been kind to me concerning quantity of drops. Full stack against the butcher on inferno was like 10 blues and two yellows.

This game is so damn good. It is going to be hard to play any other games in this same genre. I played Torchlight a couple weeks before this game came out and as good as Torchlight was at the time I don't think I could ever go back to that game.

I hope Torchlight 2 is much better since I pre-ordered it.

It does use an average of the MF.
I really hate it since I'm an MF whore but my friends don't use any at all.
Not much to be honest. But my issue isn't with quantity, it's quality. In fact, I'd appreciate if so much loot didn't drop. Does MF increase the quality/level of loot?
With quantity comes quality. iirc, I got like three yellows from Diablo on Normal.

I feel the same :(

Although Grim Dawn will be open world so it will be different enough I hope.

Torchlight 2 should be great, there's no such thing as too many good loot/dungeon hacks, keep 'em comin', this year is awesome.

Considering that loot is instanced, it does seem like a stupid decision. They actually confirmed that that's how it works?
I think the logic was someone stacked with mf isnt going to have the same dps/survivabilty as others in the group geared for progression. Averaging the mf gives more incentive to carry and whatnot. That's how it was explained to me anyhow.

The devs have confirmed that magic find averages out over the group, even if loot is individualised. It caused quite the stir on the official forums when it was announced.

It makes perfect sense imho. If you have a group of 4, one with very high MF should be the support/aoe stun/runaway guy, and those with the highest potential for nuking at certain phases should retain their damage - and it all works out in the end for all 4. Dude who is stacking MF now can down packs that he could not alone with that build, and others who basically gets the job done benefit from having someone like that in the group as well.

Which is dumb since my friends are just using shit like 2 thorns damage and 3exp/kill instead.
