Do they still do this in high school English class? I found a notepad from 8th grade English and it has a ton of stuff on diagraming sentences. A skill which I've never had to use again since. Way to go public school system.

It's not taught to be a literal skill, it's taught so you can better understand the overall structure of a sentence.

Speaking of old teaching techniques .. do they still teach "Power Writing"?

5 paragraph reports. First and Last are the intro and conclusion. The middle three paragraphs are points/topics.


Maybe that was just a jazzy name my school district used for a common idea.
