purple is in fact not a color. but an illusion.

Kind of mentioned this in a different thread but earthworms are hermaphrodites. All of 'em. They reproduce by lying in opposite directions. Then they secrete mucus that creates a little tunnel and they release their juices. If all goes well they both get pregnant.

There are 8,418 known Anime movies + Anime OVAs + Anime series + Anime official Music Videos with 148,408 known episodes.
Woah, according to my MAL which I haven't updated in a while I've seen over 1,300.

I thought there would have been more anime than just 8,300 :(

Japanese girls love wall banging.
Now you just using my thread names >.>

But yes, some research was carried out and Japanese girls do want to try a wall bang once in their life. Even if it is from guys they don't like, it will still pull on their heart strings.

Store bought orange juice is flavored, as the deoxygenating process to keep it fresh ends up removing the taste. Not from concentrate doesn't mean not artificially flavored.

Chas and Dave, the Cockney duo responsible for such hits as 'Rabbit', 'Margate', and 'Gertcha', are responsible for the riff in Eminem's debut hit 'My Name is'.

They were session musicians in the 70s and played on, and provided backing vocals on this track by 70's funk/soul musician Labi Siffre. (2:32 in!).

Did you know? There's no such thing as a fish. Things that we commonly group together as fish may have less in common with each other, in an evolutionary sense, than with humans or birds or anything else. And their biologies can be so divergent that "fish" is not considered a proper grouping in systematic biology. To a scientist, the word is meaningless.

We are just highly evolved fish.

So, what I can infer from this is that, we don't exist!

Racecar is spelled the same backward and forward.

Did you know? It's usually better to dress in layers for the cold than to wear less, but thicker clothing. Air is a great insulator of heat, so by wearing layers, you're trapping layers of air too that help keep you warm!

Also, did you know, we often make materials stronger by making them less pure? Steel for example, is iron doped with a specific amount of carbon to fortify the iron.

Whiskey is clear until it ages. The product from the stills can be cut into three cuts: heads, hearts, and tails. Hearts are what's good for making whiskey. Heads is what can make you go blind/die. Tails taste like shit but can be blended to make other liquors.

It costs more than a penny to manufacture a penny coin.

For instance, as of 2011, it costs 2.41¢ to make a one-cent coin.

That little piece of knowledge fucked me up, man.

Yes, but a penny gets used many, many times over the course of its useful life.

But they keep producing them. $XX.99 necessitates that they do. They make 1,040 pennies ... every second. 13 billion a year. And, in 2014, it costs 1.83 cents to make a single cent (admittedly down from $2.41 in 2011). The cost of their production has exceeded their worth for 9 years. The taxpayer loses tens of millions on the production of pennies every year.

90% of the cells (by number not weight) in your body are not human, but rather microbes that have some sort of symbiotic relationship to the remaining 10% of you.

Also, while evolutionists often talk about our common ancestry with apes, the same thing could be said of any living thing. We also have a common ancestor with any given tree in your neighborhood (or that bacteria in the pile of dog-shit next to that tree).

This is why the penny is no obsolete in Canada. We round to 5 or 0 when it comes to sent. 3-4 and 6-7 rounds to 5, 1-2 and 8-9 round to the nearest 0.

There are probably more false or oversimplified statements in this thread than facts.

When the lights are blue in the bathrooms of a club or concert room, it's because blue lights makes it difficult to see your veins. It's used to prevent junkies from doing drugs in there.

Phonetically, a lot of Japanese and Zambian (multiple languages) words are similar with a few having the same meaning.
Japanese word (rough contextual translation) - Zambian language meaning

Asuka (a girl's name) - to answer
Ichiban (the best/#1) - a very big bun
Tanaka (a surname) - he/she doesn't tire
Chikara (power/strength) - a swear word (well, it's really chikala)
Kuta kuta (stuffed) - stuffed
Ichi (one) - this one (usually a big item)
Ni (two) - it is
Iie (no) - used to express shock, think wtf or gtfoh
Ka (turns a sentence into a question) - used at the end of some questions
Kami (God/hair) - I should
Ai(love) - used for affirmation at the end of a question, think eh or huh.

This is one reason Anime and Japanese culture is widely popular amongst Zambian-Otaku and why it is one of the easiest languages to be learnt here. Overall, the fandom is small and what's really most popular is American culture (swag, saggy jeans etc) but amongst the Anime and JRPG fans, the Japanese language (nihongo) is adopted as a "third" language.

I saw this nonsense on QI and they then they started making fun of people who are "allergic" to fish as it's impossible as there's no such thing as "fish".

Well I am allergic to Fish. All fish. Sea water. Fresh water. Shell.

The Maillard reaction (/maɪˈjɑr/ my-YAR; French pronunciation: [majaʁ])

...is a chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars that gives browned foods their desirable flavor. Seared steaks, pan-fried dumplings, breads, and many other foods make use of the effect. It is named after French chemist Louis-Camille Maillard, who first described it in 1912 while attempting to reproduce biological protein synthesis.

Did you know that such browning is happening inside of your body? And that increased sugar intake accelerates said process?

Yeah, I don't know for sure if I am allergic but everytime I eat fish I vomit soon after.
Fuck fish.

That whole song is pretty cool actually. I'm going to have to look into Labi Siffre.
