Once again steam was overrun in demand for its new product did everyone on gaf who wanted one managed to get it?

Took about 30 mins of spamming buttons but I was eventually able to grab one for a friend of mine. I'm waiting for the Steam Machine Bundle to save a few bucks.

I have a better controller already, so I'm going to pass. Good luck to everyone who wants this, though. It always sucks when the stuff you want is on backorder.

That's a quote from Steve Cardinali, a Valve hardware engineer when discussing the Steam Controller, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine. These are compatible but completely separate products.
 
Fecking forgot it was on sale at 6pm - it's a bank holiday in the UK so been busy. Ah well, hope it's back in soon.
 
Nope. Didn't bother, it's missing features I would want in order to replace the dozen 8BitDo or DualSense controllers I use.
 
I think I got the last one before it sold out after 35 minutes of trying. Happy I got the order in but don't care if it's a month out
 
Nope, I managed to add it to the cart.
But, The payment part never worked. Not once.
I even tried adding 100 bucks to the steam wallet during that 30 min time and it failed as well.
I wonder if anyone was able to buy a game during that time.

I'm miffed enough to remove all Steam hardware from my wishlist. That Steam Machine and the Steam Frame is going to be impossibru to obtain.

I'll be looking for that 8bitdo 3E instead of the Steam Controller.
I'll hold onto the Quest 3 for a little longer.
Hoping my PC doesn't die anytime soon.

Valve hardware. No go, for now.
 
I got 2 ordered and paid for, but after all the errors and try again later messages, I am expecting them to either be cancelled or severely delayed. I only ordered them for a family member anyway, still need to test drive one to see how they feel vs a Dualsense / Edge.

Also, checking the Steam page, the buy now button keeps switching every 30 minutes or so when I check to sold out then back to buy now, so keep looking if you are interested.

I was on the Steam Website and it went live for me at 11:58. I added it to my cart and checked out without any issues.
 
Didn't even try, the reviews were too negative with too many cons to drop $100 on shit that only really works on Steam. Also ain't buying a Bluetooth chat earpiece to get around lack of chat/headphone input on controller. Overpriced shit nobody tested outside of Valve's office.

Yeah got mine, but had to spam click for like 5 mins due to the error, but eventually it got through. Had the money ready in my steam wallet instead of paying by card
 
I got one. Hopefully will arrive soon and I never have to use a Bluetooth dongle ever again.

Also hope the trackpads are as good as those from the first version but they seem smaller.
 
I forgot that was today. Oh well, guess I'm not getting one. Scalpers already listing them on eBay. I fucking hate modern day hustle culture. It's a full time job not having a full time job.

Wanted one, Steam wallet was preloaded, but kept getting error messages checking out until they were sold out. Oh well, I guess.
 
Yes, had to spam that continue button relentlessly. Was almost ready to give up and try later, but now I'm glad I didn't.

I was on Steam before that but like a dummy sitting on my wish list page waiting for it to go live there. That was a mistake that costs me a couple of minutes before I realized I needed to go to the product page. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
 
Yeah. Kinda amazed, I managed to go straight through the whole process without any hiccups, literally 2 mins before the official sale time. Usually there's massive fuckery abound with these kind of things - I still get Vietnam-style flashbacks of trying to order the deck on day 1. But it seems Gaben saw it fit to reward me without any "an error has occurred" bullshit this time.
