As far as I'm concerned, Digimon ended after season 3. And was the greatest anime of all time for it's oh so short life.

It's just a snarky way of saying I really didn't enjoy season 4. I cut it off at some point and that really led to me stopping watching anime period. The character felt so.. Blah.

Give Savers and Xros Wars a try.

And to be honest, Frontier ain't bad. Just forget anything after Seraphimon exists!
 
Eeeeh, it all started when I saw a promo about it, then I thought "Ah,something like Pokèmon,eh? I'll see it just for curiosity, and then I'll never watch it again!"
...The last famous words.
Season 1: Amazing. Tai, Kari, the bitch fight between Angewomon and LadyDevimon, the Dark Lords... Myotismon...MYOTISMON.
Season 2: Very good IMHO... sequel to 01, and then the relationships between the new Digidestined. Arakenimon and Mummimon were so hilarious. Poor Mummimon, however, he had an heart :(
Season 3: I liked it too, because it was different. Very dark, and that girl with Leomon...scary.
Season 4: Eh, Power Rangeresque. Worse than the others.
I have yet to see the Season 5.
Xros Wars is different, and I like it. No technichism, fights and heart, charachters with development of personalities, and fights...a bit Gurren Lagannesque.
This sixth season part two has instantly made me think that they already found the next marketing angle for games after SRT: Monster Hunter :lol
But, not bad so far.
And Nenè grew very well, maybe the best female Digidestined?

P.S. And one of the two Digimon with boobs in the OP, during the first series, make an awesome forced DigiXross...
She has other digimons' faces in place of boobs and vagina :lol :lol :lol :lol

Maybe I will when I get some free time on my hands.

Also I was totally "that guy" who visited T.K. & Kari love fansites on a regular basis back in the day. Y'all don't even know. I remember one site got a .tk domain and I was shitting bricks at how awesome that was.
 
As someone who loved the somber, yet ultimately optimistic tone of Tamers, what are the chances of me enjoying Savers or Xros Wars? I liked Adventure better than Adventure 02 and thought Frontier was okay-ish.

In a way, Xros Wars has some Adventure-resque feels. It really has bro moments too.

I remember watching Tamers after school every Wednesday, probably nearly 10 years ago. I don't think I ever got to see the very end, though; the last thing I remember watching was

Nope, UK. Also, why is there what appears to be a purple Gabumon in the new series? They completely ruined the colour scheme...

Pretty much. The lil blue guy's got practically an answer for everything as evolutions go. Including having like 3-4 distinct Mega/Ultimate forms. :lol

I only saw the first two seasons and a bit of the 3rd, mostly where the old guys came to help their old digimon.


I remember the second season took 3429049324398409423439 episodes to get done, either that or the channel that showed it was very slow in putting new episodes.

OK, I didn't know that.

Anyway, I played Digimon World DS on my brother's DS a couple of years ago, and thought it was pretty awesome. So I just went on Amazon.co.uk to see if I could get a copy. The used prices range from £64.99 to £85.99 :|

Dusk and Dawn are significantly cheaper, but I remember the original having better music... Looks like I'll be camping eBay and Amazon until someone puts one up at a reasonable price!
 
Oh and finally watched the latest ep of Xros Wars 2 since it's subbed.

Holy fuck Airu is a sadistic bitch. Will torture people and Digimons until she gets them, and has a psychotic cute Digimon who would destroy anything her partner says is cuter than her.

Came after the horrible Frontier, and was banished to the realm of an obscure cable channel in the US.

My friends don't want to give season 3 a try. They love 1 and 2.

I've never seen 3 either, I'm waiting until my friends give in =P
 
So I'm checking the wiki and notice that Xros is the longest Digimon season by far (and it's still not done). Does the series have a big following in Japan comparable to the old days?

And technically season 1 is over.

Tamers was my favorite in the series. Savers was my second favorite; I remember it being similar in appeal. Never could get into Xros Wars.
 
Weird. I have the same preferences. I still think Tamers is the best of the series so far but my second favorite series is definitely Savers. It feels a lot different compared to the other ones. It really lacks the discovery feeling of the previous series but I love the attitudes of Agumon and Marcus and it really made it for me.

But this is coming from someone who hasn't watched the first series in quite a bit. So I don't know where I would put it. But I enjoyed Savers much more than Frontier and Adventure 02.

I've yet to see Xros Wars because I didn't want to scavenge through fansubs. So I'm excited it's coming in some form now.
