Hotspot Shield is our friend, Ookami

Well, I don't really need to watch in crunchy anyway.

That, and I heard the subs used by CR for both Adventure 02 and Tamers are provided by Toei and their subs are lol

Horrendous breach of bro code. Tai took it in stride like a boss though.

And just like every Digimon thread, looks like I'll be heading up the Frontier Defense Force.

How can you stand Zoe? I can't stand her.

This is why I love Nene Amano and Yuu Amano.

They don't steal boys (or in Yuu's case, girls). They're magnetic. Nene has two boys magically entranced towards her while Yuu already has fangirls in season 2, and he incidentally made the female Hunter into one of his.

lol Frontier. That was so bad.

It was actually pretty good... until the part after Seraphimon where everyone jobs to the two boys who then jobs to the two Royal Knights.

Fuck it, I'm gonna start watching 02 RIGHT NOW. Childhood memories, here I come

edit: No I'm not actually, crunchyroll won't let me watch it from here, fml

Iunno, I prefer levels - it meant that "oh shit, this is goign to be an equal battle." Two wargreymons fighting or two champion levels fighting - there was a balance there.

When I saw frontier, and seeing the main characters beating up champions and mega's with no problem, I wasn't sure what was going on.

Then towards the end, all these random mega digimon with no real power level defined... gahh I dunno. I like definite things.

Digimon was basically my favourite show for my childhood, and for the length of time I watched anime. Some of you in this thread, particularly Ookami-kun, are still fairly in tune with it it seems.

So I ask, what's Digimon like in Japan ATM? Has it become all niche? Is it still powerful? Are they still actively trying to bring it to the west to try and rebuild the market? Do they still make cards? I'm really curious.

What was the big tall goofy furry one from the Digimovie? It was my fave. I couldn't name it to save my life. Help me out here.

You do know that Adventure, 02, and Tamers are also guilty of that shit?

While it's not as big as before, Xros Wars reignited its popularity. Last time I heard there's a Xros Wars McDonalds happy meal last month.

It has two card games - one is Digimon Digica Taisen, one of those arcade card games thingie. It's pretty much the backbone of XW's success. The other is the ongoing Digimon Jintrix, which both an online and offline card game. You can either play it offline or register online to its website and input the card number to gain it for your online deck.

Still waiting for Super Xros Wars and/or Lost Evolution =/

Like me, and Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden that's definitely not coming over. Niche game vs. high cost of DS game replication isn't a good mix.

Which is kinda weird because the other Digimon DS games were brought over.

All console markets get worse as they age. There's more competition on the shelves, but less space because of new platforms, etc. Niche publishers don't have kind things to say of the DS, and while XSEED brought over Solatorobo, they've made it very clear DS publishing isn't easy. There isn't a secondary market like with PSP (via PSN).

Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden is the first Dragon Ball game since 1997 that wasn't released in the US (Wonderswan don't count), and I blame that entirely on the fact it was a DS game.

By the way, why do they love Biblical references in Digimon? You know, Angemon, Beelzemon, Lilithmon, Apocalymon, etc

Watching Arukenimon and Mummymon get
tortured then murdered
ruined digimon for me :( man that was fucked up....
I watched the first parts of season 3, 4 and even 5 but I always end up losing interest

Maybe because DB Kai wasn't booming here, or that Bandai's pretty bonkers?

I don't believe Bandai's US division has published any DS games this year. I think they're just done with the platform.
