Found an interesting video while browsing YouTube, one time the algorithm actually was useful:
Interesting to note how it's been decades since companies decided to continue to kill the older games to funnel your money into new ones or remasters / remakes. The example of Fable III is particularly damning:
1. Other games with GFWL had their GFWL component patched out, so it's technically possible
2. Game was available on Steam and has now been delisted, you can still buy a CD Key for 200€ and correctly register it
3. Microsoft has a brand new game coming out, while Fable II and III remain unavailable on PC
I have quite a few PC boxes stashed in the attic, most of them from 1990s so I guess as long as I get floppy disc drive I should be able to run the games correctly.
