I am frustrated. I have been trying to defeat the game's penultimate boss for days now... (Meganada) does anyone have any tips?

I void when he uses phys, I cast walls when he uses magic, and drain elec to counter his insta-death magic attack... problem is he casts both Tentarufo (confuse) and Charm in one round and I can only cast Void Ailment once every round.. so with some bad luck my drain elec caster gets charmed and I die in the next round... thirty minutes of my life gone.

I really need to finish this so I can play DQVIII My chars are all around lvl 61 so it should work, no?

I had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago--read the discussion in this thread.

At 61 you may be underleveled.

EDIT, now that I've actually read your post--if you're using Cielo, he has a weakness against Ailment spells. In order to defeat Meganada you must either equip Cielo with Void Charm and/or Void Panic, or have one of your other characters cast Magic Repel (which you probably don't have) when Meganada is in his second phase.

I had Null Ailment on Cielo and set him as the leader of my party, so he would go first and be able to use a Panacea on anyone who got hit with Charm/Panic. Also I had two characters with Elec Drain equipped just in case of emergencies.

I don't know if you've gotten his HP in the red yet, but he starts hitting with Viraj Blade and Meru Thunder a lot more frequently then, and doesn't always give you a turn of warning. He kept killing me at this point until I used an Impel Stone when he was vulnerable to magic and finished him off in one round.

I remember beating him around that level but I honestly think the the stat boost I got from playing DS1 helped. I lowered his stats to help survive. I wasn't even void the physical damage he was causing. I hate the confuse/charm spell. They usually make or break the battle for me but I don't remember getting effected by those spells.
