I think it is sad it took heroics from the Bulls to beat the Jazz. Back when the NBA was good (i.e. Beginning of time - 1990), the Jazz with the same exact players were always a joke in the Western Conference. They were always good for a first round exit and Malone of course breaking a few bones on another team's shooting guard or point guard. They only became competitive when the NBA hit its worst talent drought (i.e. the Jordan era). There was also a miraculous rebound in talent in quality from 1999 onwards and new players finally became veterans. This marvelous era of course ended in the summer of 2003.
We are all awaiting for the Lakers to usher in another golden era of the NBA.
