Disney Infinity 2.0 lOTl Fate of Two Worlds

Man I didn't think these were moving but my Target is almost cleaned out.

My Target only had the less popular characters when I went today. Lots of Nick Fury, Iron Fist, Hawk Eye and for some reason Groot. They also had a ton of the GotG set but no Spider-Man sets. I'm thinking they shipped way more GotG though.

So seems like the speculation on the final two characters has turned to Tron & Quorra
1. JV's "prepping the grid" comment
2. The only characters to be DLC
3. Lightcycle supposedly not being unlockable anywhere yet is confirmed in
JV also said "cannot say(how to unlock) at this time""this will make sense later".

My money is still on live action Cinderella.

No PS4 and 360 sets anywhere in a 5 mile radius.
Wow, I guess last Tuesday many people didn't know it was out and as soon as word spread people starting buying them up.

I was at 2 Walmarts, Target and Best Buy Tuesday afternoon and maybe 1 or 2 figures and playsets were gone by then.

Nabbed Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax yesterday at Target...got the last Drax they had. So all I need are the two other play sets and Venom and Iron Fist to have everything from the first wave. Those will wait until Christmas...planning to get Donald Duck and Merida when those launch.

Also, I'm done buying Power Discs...I bought 3 for $10 at TRU the other week and ended up with three Iron Patriot discs. I wish Disney would just let us buy them as $1.99 DLC if they're going to lock on-disc content instead of chancing it at retail. It's frustrating.

I'm down to just one last mission in the Guardians playset - "What's Yours is Mine's", where I'm supposed to "Clear the debris in the Mining Zone". There's a big glowing-red pile of junk here, and nothing I do can affect it. Anyone figure it out yet? Google searches have been fruitless.

*edit* Ah, you have to use one of the yellow super-lasers that you can find nearby. That was frustrating. =p

I'm new to this series, tempted to pick up the old game for the portal. (Wii is cheapest)

Apparently I can then buy the digital copy of 2.0 for PS4 and use the portal? What else would I need though? From what I understand I would need one character from the applicable set/stage to play the game since they don't mix like Skylanders? I'm thinking if this is worth getting into at all depending on how much more I'd have to spend.

I can get the Wii version new for $20, or I found someone on craigslist selling with a few figures I would want (total 11 figures) for $45. Might go with #2.

That's right! I have the WiiU portal (which works on the Wii) and I'm using that portal on the PS4 version. remember the digital version is not out until mid November.

PC Version of 2.0 just went up for anyone interested in that. Hoping it has better controls (Still installing).
I've got a bunch of the characters unlocked thanks to the web cards (every figure I own except Syndrome), but I wish there was an option to buy power discs for console games like there is for the PC game, you know? Maybe in a future update...

And I don't have a PC capable of running this, so I'll skip it. Nor is it on Android tablets (for whatever reason). So no go for me.

You actually can buy the discs in the new one it looks like :)

Doesn't come wtih a full playset like the first one, but it let me play the Avengers one for a decent bit, seems a whole hell of a lot better! I'll probably go pick the 360 version up this weekend.

It does if you own the web code. Technically I own it.

Yeah, that's what the console shop needs to look like. I'd buy every one of those if I could on Wii U, but I won't go into a blind pack to get them.

They just announced that they're going to sell the game discs for 19.99. While they are certainly worth more than 4.99, I think 9.99 or 14.99 would've been better. As it stands now if you plan on buying the two characters in the Disney pack, the discs, and a third character it would be better to submit a pre-order for the Disney starter than buying those items by themselves.

I sort of wonder if they did that to increase the number of copies sold as while they've made statements about how much money the games made but they've never said that it dethroned Skylanders in copies sold.

I also just beat the Spider-Man set and it did a lot to make it feel different from the other two sets. The sewers were far better than any interior in the other games and that they created (basic) puzzles to solve in certain areas that helped break up the monotony that the other sets had in places. Unfortunately it also seemed to be phoned in a bit more noticeably in certain areas like collectable placement and missions that make you go in a circle just to extend length. It also stinks that the Ultimate Spider-Man series has a ton of cameos but this set had nameless shield agents giving you missions half or more of the time instead of known heroes.

In the end I'd rank the sets:

1. Avengers
2. Spider-Man
3. GotG

I hooked up Disney Infinity 1.0 again this morning, and finished the Incredibles play set plus part of the Monsters Univ. one. It's so much better than 2.

I should've been harder on 2 and given it a 2.5/5 instead of a 3/5, but I figured its target audience would enjoy it regardless of its issues.

They'd better reverse the greed train a bit for DI3.

I actually enjoyed the second game more than the first. The value and variety of the sets is worse but the actual game is far more enjoyable to play.

Hah, not too shabby, guess I'll get to fool around with it. From the looks of it they've unlocked a bunch of characters (Hulk, Elsa, Spidey...) until Tuesday, and all three playsets seem to have playable demos, so I guess if you like one you can just buy it separately and play it without the portal or having to pay for the others. Neat.

Yeah, aside from toybox improvements being probably the most important thing, the actual mechanics in 2 blow 1 out of the water. Adventures aside, the base gameplay in 2 is just a whole hell of a lot deeper and more fun.

So Tron & Quorra are looking to be it.
multiple people saw a glitch video uploaded to twitter yesterday showing their statues in the HoH that was quickly taken down.

normally wouldn't believe it but a few trustworthy people said they saw it as well.

I picked up the starter kit for this today at target. I am hoping that this might be something that my six-year-old daughter and I can get into together. Otherwise do you think this is just a kids game or the something that my 37-year-old self might get some enjoyment out of?

I think it's fairly enjoyable as an adult but feel you need to have the right expectations before purchasing. This is still a video game that's primarily made for children and the games difficulty and writing reflect that. It's not insulting by any means but this isn't going to be the Avengers or GotG game an adult would be hoping for.

Another thing to keep in mind is the level building is a big draw here. If that's not your thing it'll probably be a couple months before we start seeing some really cool and ambitious games available for download, so don't write off the community content until people have had proper time to learn the tools and build.

I'd recommend buying things slowly and only when they're on sale. I feel the starter pack is worth the asking price but everything else is a bit overpriced. Avoid power discs until you've decided if the two of you enjoy Toy Box.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Out of curiosity. The portal in 1.0 is usable in 2.0 right? Example the Wii portal can be used with 2.0 on Wii U?

Yup, they're going to offer a digital download of just the software if you don't want to invest in another portal (I think it's 20 bucks? It's not out yet afaik).

Been putzing around in the toy box today and holy crap it's so much better. The creation tools are spot on and you can easily procedurally generate LEGITIMATELY fun levels to run around. I seriously cannot fathom anyone thinking 1.0 is the better product - the 1.0 campaigns possibly, but the meat and potatoes of the toybox are night and day improved. Combat and character development is genuinely fun now as well (though I recommend combat difficulty being cranked up for most adult gamers).

Have all three playsets. Have finished the Avengers mission wise but not started Spider-man yet.

Played through the Guardians set this morning, it seemed really short. Finished the main story in about 2 hours... wasn't rushing though I do still have some side missions to do. Wasn't trying to play through the main story before doing the side mission, but it's not always clear what is a side mission and what isn't...

Compared the 1.0 the playsets seem better in some ways. Combat has been pretty fun so far despite being very simple (mash triangle, dodge occasionally), really enjoy playing as Iron Man especially after some upgrades. Playing on normal, some of the protect missions I've been close to failing, but keeping your character alive is easy - except I've had some lasers one hit kill me sometimes. Flying around is also really fun, although if you play as a flying character it makes the vehicles seem redundant (much like Saints Row 4... more fun to traverse as the character alone). No more annoying missions like change this persons clothes, change the wallpaper of the building etc.

Value wise 2.0 is worse that 1.0, 2.0 includes one 3-6 hour playset (took me about 4 hours for the missions, still have challenged and collectables though) while 1.0 included 3 4-7 hour playsets which were more varied that even the seperately purchasable playsets in 2.0 (Spider-man is in a different part of the same city as Avengers and they all have similar gameplay). Maybe the stronger tools for community created content will help the value of the game go up, but so far I haven't had much fun outside the playsets.

For those looking to trade power discs, I have Winter Soldier Marvel Team Up, Gamora's Costume, Nick Fury's Aerial Assault, and other DI 1.0 power discs up. I updated the google Doc to reflect what I have, so PM me if interested.

Finished Spiderman (Don't have Guardians yet due to all the negative word of mouth).

It kicks the shit out of the Avengers set, much more creative missions, actual puzzles, I think the city layout isn't as good (It's got more ambiguous borders too), lots of instanced dungeon-y areas. I mean, I enjoyed the Avengers one just fine, but Spiderman should be what they're all like. Has a lot more going on.

Nice, might start the Spider-man playset tomorrow, finished Guardians side missions today and had already completed Avengers (am taking it slow, way too many games at the moment).

Not sure if it's like this on the other versions, but one really weird thing with the PS4 version is it looks like they have compressed some of the videos down to maybe DVD quality. Is pretty weird when the actual in game IQ far surpasses the cutscenes. The PS4 version only takes up like 10 gigabytes... so not sure what their issue was.

Just bought my first figure, Groot. Couldn't resist one. Gave Elsa to my niece. Though none of us have the actual game.

Are there any good levels shared by other players online?

I really want Star Lord and Spider-Man but can't buy them individually.

Get the Frozen characters and Tangled. Those are the only ones my 7 year old likes. Otherwise, it's just me playing it. Can't believe I actually said that but it's fun what can I say?

I appreciate that DI has multiple ways to buy into 2.0 (Avengers starter pack, Toy Box starter pack, the PC starter pack and the digital download for 1.0 base owners) but its brutal having to wait a month after the launch of the game to take advantage of all those options.

Yeah. I'm getting the digital Toy Box on PS4 along most of the Disney Originals.

But here I am, waiting until November. Hopefully the "2 Disney discs for free for digital purchases", won't be another "sorry, we don't ship to PR" kind of deal. The 2-packs will retail for $19.99.

Oh no this is getting real dangerous. I'm getting more figures and now have 10 of them.

And I still plan on getting Sorcerer Mickey, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Nova, Drax, Rocket Racoon, Star-Lord, Gamora, Merida, Jasmin and Aladdin. That's like 13 figures more.

I'll end up with all of them probably.

And I haven't played much of the game but the Avengers set seems so barebones.

Oh wait, Hiro from Big Hero 6 is getting his own figure!?

Sorry for the double post but I got totally addicted to the figure collecting that I now have 18 of them:

Nobody into this anymore?

I'm waiting for digital wii u version to drop before I start buying figures. I was looking at them yesterday and I think the second wave looks much nicer than the first one did. I have no idea where i'm going to put all these infinity and amiibo figures though.

Does the WiiU have a sound issue anyone knows of?

For some reason not all the sound is coming through the game? I get left and right channels, but that's about it.

Dipped in for my son's birthday (18th of December), so I have his
my
Marvel 2.0 set waiting till then.

Never played the original Infinity, so looking forward to giving it a go :)

So can we expect Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Black Bolt, Medusa, Doctor Strange, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, & maybe Wasp for 3.0?

mreddie

Likely Scarlet, Quicksilver, Carol, Antman and Wasp.

Sam and Quorra
seem like really odd choices, especially when Cinderella and Alice seem more logical. But hey 3.0. How are the sales right now? I know it's doing well in the UK.

Why not T'Challa, the Inhumans, or Vision?

And where's all the
Sam & Quorra
talk coming from?

My question is if more levels will be released. Characters are great but the game is hyper lean when it comes to actual fun levels to play with them in. Do these new characters all come with new toy sets?

I want to pick this up to play it with both my wife and my nieces and nephews. The only "problem" for me is that I'm not going to want to take the characters out of their packaging!

Ok gaf dudes, I'm seriously considering making Infinity 2.0 my soon to be four year old son's big Christmas gift.

Playing games together is what he loves to do and Lego MSH is getting old for him.

I'm thinking toybox mode would be great for that kind of playing around.

Never dipped into the first version or any type of game like this and my questions are this-

-What's the best starter pack with the most for the least? That amazon premiun one seems pretty good. He likes Nova and Rocket Racoon so that's a plus.

-What individual characters from 1.0 are the most fun?

-the playsets from 1.0 don't work with 2.0, correct? Don't bother with playset packs from 1?

-any pitfalls in the game that would make a jr. gameplayer not be able to have fun running around openworld and hulksmashing stuff?

-is one console version considered superior to another?

-when is 2.0 going to be available digitally? Grubby lil hands and discs are a danger. I figure it'd be less hassle for a digital version and just collect individually.

Any answers/advice would be greatly appreciated. I hope to make it a Christmas to remember!

On thing to remember is that the PC version is free too if you are into that and you just take your characters code numbers and enter them into the pc version so you have them for both versions. I have been spending an insane amount of time on the PC version randomly so that is a plus though it may not matter to some. For me it was because sometimes my wife wants to play and I want to play but not the same part of the game.

Edit:
Also the consoles both have their issues neither seems to be better than the other.
The characters from 1 are all fun but remember there are still restrictions for what toys can be used the actual game parts. Means much of what you get would be usable only in the toybox itself which is a downer.

The 1.0 characters are definitely less interesting than the 2.0. Their skill trees are all just passive boosts to stuff and their actual attacks are a bit more rote. But it doesn't matter - you need to get used to doing Toybox stuff or you only want characters for the playsets they work with. I really think the inability to use anyone in anything is a major downer here. If he likes minecraft and building things (you can also have the game randomly create levels for you which is nice) he won't enjoy it as much.

EDIT: I meant if he DOESNT like minecraft style games he won't like it as much. The editor is a ton of fun to play with and super powerful.

Yep. Biggest downer of all its insanely limiting.

What's the frame rate like on the Wii U version? Part of why I stopped playing the Wii U version of the the first game was because it was bad a times. The game seemed to choppy at times. Is 2.0 better?
