So wait. He says final. Does that mean that this version is already done? No more packs or characters at all?
Nothing past the already announced stuff. Character count is pretty much the same as the first game, 3 less playsets though.
Marvel pretty much banned any mutant or F4 representation, so that's 2 potential play sets gone. A shame they didn't let Aladdin,Ouch. I so hope they fix that. I am just finishing up version 1 and the play sets have been absolutely tremendous fun.

It's a shame the mutants will most likely be ignored again in the next game given the mandate for this game & the influx of new MCU characters from Age of Ultron onwards. At the very least, the DI crew is aware of the demand for characters like Wolverine & Deadpool. To be fair, I doubt we would have gotten another play set even if Marvel gave them no restrictions. They had half the development time and they improved the main game, creation stuff, made 3 play sets and two smaller disc games. It's a bummer that Marvel won't let them add the Xmen but I doubt we would have gotten the Fantastic Four until the barrel ran pretty close to dry.
Where'd you read that? I started the download when I got home today for lunch. I also picked up Merida and Donald Duck. That brings my figure total up to 35...yikes.Seems that the whole thing about those who get the digital Toy Box, get the two Disney Power discs for free...only meant the first 10k will qualify for it. How they will measure that...no details yet.
Waiting for Grace Chen Time, to get it on PS4.Where'd you read that? I started the download when I got home today for lunch. I also picked up Merida and Donald Duck. That brings my figure total up to 35...yikes.
Huh...I wonder if that means the Toy Box Games will be a physical copy sent to me or digital. Either way, that's silly and was very poorly worded when they initially told people about it. 10,000 per system or 10,000 overall?Waiting for Grace Chen Time, to get it on PS4.
Info was from Infinity Inquirer, from a conference call last week. Seems the Vita version is still set for Spring 2015 and will have "sonething special"....whatever that is.

Yeah. Physical. And yeah, the original PR said tbat "anyone"would get them. So apologies if I missed this reading over posts, but does anyone know of a good checklist of all the figures? (And I guess the playsets?)
My unofficial nephew has expressed interest in the game, and since I love aiding and abetting his video game habit, and love to spread the Disney love, I must help him in acquiring things! I've searched online but really can't seem to find a good CHECKLIST.
Note, variants aren't really important, I don't think he is going to care much.
Thanks!
Ehr..the Toy Box Starter Pack was released today. For $60 includes the disc, Merida, Stitch and their Toy Box Game Discs.Wait, the only way to get just the game if I already have a base is to buy it digitally? Seriously? They didn't do a game/game&figures only release?
Ughhhhh fuck offfff. Are there any pros at all to downloading the game besides the obvious not having to switch out the game disc? Faster load times, etc?
I've been sitting here waiting for them to announce the game-only SKU but it looks like I've been waiting for nothing.

EDIT: And confirmed, only the first 10k of the digital purchases get it, by registering:

Price is the only upside and that's only if you have no interest in anything else the starters come with.
That's what I did. I think it's silly Disney can't email in a week or so and say that our entry was accepted...but I also think they'd shut the link down once 10,000 valid users signed up. So I'm working under the assumption that I'm in, but...I guess we'll see.How would I even send in a receipt for the Wii U version? Take a photo of the purchase confirmation on the gamepad? I've never received an email from Nintendo for digital.
EDIT: Well I sent a registration form in with a pic of my gamepad. I guess I'll see in 60 days if that works lol.
The digital version is the same game as the retail game. It works with all Play Sets.Hmmmmm
So if I'm reading this correctly and what you're telling me, I can get JUST the game (digital) on Wii U for $20 right now? But it's not like a gimped Toy-Box-Only version of the game, it'll work with the playsets?
Is there any way to get the Avengers playset piece without buying the Starter Pack? I assume not...
Ugh, I want all that shit but I don't need another base plate. Guess I'll just wait for the discounts to start rolling around like they did last time.

You can buy The Avengers Play Set stand-alone (with Iron Man and Black Widow) for $35 at retail. This also launched today with the new figures. Thor is also sold stand alone.
Whaat...
The Green Goblin figure looks nothing like the goblin I know about. Is this the Ultimate version?
In Europe, the promotional price is only running through November 13. I can't speak for the US version.Oh awesome!!
So I could get the game download for $20 and then those figures and playset for $35, and that'd come to about $55-60 which is what I'd expect from the game-only version that they decided not to make. So the only comparible version would be the Toy Box starter, which comes with the game, two figures, NO playet, the base (don't need), and two power discs for $60 right?
Seems like the DD version plus Avengers (or any $35 playset really) is the best way to go to get the whole experience for the lowest price.
Do we know how long that $20 promo for the eShop is gonna last? Everything I saw just said "for a limited time". My birthday is on the 19th so I'd probably like to wait until then to grab a playset and the game, but if it's gonna end before then I think I can spare $20 and wait on the rest.

The only thing you don't get buying digitally are the Toy Box Games discs, which will be at retail beginning January 13 for $19.99 (pack of two discs). If those aren't a big deal to you, then go for it. Black Widow isn't a particularly interesting character at first, but she grew on me. Iron Man is a beast.
JESUS CHRIST the discs are $20 now!?!? Weren't they like $5-8 for two last time!??! Ooooohhhhh my god.
Well the discs weren't a big deal to me last time and I guess I could always just eBay the ones I actually care for. Fuck. $20 for two discs. That's insane.
These aren't Power Discs, they're Toy Box Games. They're actual games built from the game's Toy Box (with a cutscene or two thrown in) that last for a few hours each. So two of those for $20 isn't a bad deal. I rather enjoyed Escape From The Kyln myself.JESUS CHRIST the discs are $20 now!?!? Weren't they like $5-8 for two last time!??! Ooooohhhhh my god.
That's how big the Wii U version download was. I bought it at lunch and went back to work. It probably took around 2 hours for me, so I'll take Merida and Donald for a spin tonight. I was just getting a digital copy to replace the disc, so I've already played through The Avengers. I need to start Guardians of the Galaxy, so...maybe that too.Well, PS4 digital version purchased. 10.3GB which is around 5 hours in my case.
Submitted the receipt. Sucks that right there it tells you that you'll basically know you qualified for the discs...if you receive them.
They are Toy Box game discs, not power discs. They are basically developer made games using Toy Box tools and items that are available in Toy Box. There's four of them, based on Thor, GotG, Stitch, and Brave. Thor is tower defense game and GotG is a dungeon crawl (an NPC partner follows you around and you power them up with loot). The Stitch and Brave one just came out today so I'm not quite sure what they're supposed to be. They're making people wait if you want to buy them separate from the Toy Box starter.

There's user created content available already?
Isn't release in the UK on Nov. 7th? Or was the digital version announced for earlier? The digital version doesn't seem to be showing up in the UK?
The PS4 version just isn't there (and yes the store has updated).
Xbox One version just says "unavailable".
Any ideas?

Will be released on January 13 at $20 (each 2-pack).I got the Avengers set when it came out, is there a cheaper way (than paying the 50 dollars for) to get the 2 play discs (Brave and Stitch) I think that came with the 2.0 Disney one?
