Disney, Marvel and the B Tier

What would you think of Disney taking Marvel's lesser known franchises (like Runaways, Power Pack, ect) and making Big Hero 6 style films out of it? There is a rumor that Big Hero 6 is the first salvo in an animated MCU, so if that should be the case, would you rather it be tied to the big boy MCU possibly in a style of Frozen in Once Upon a Time or would you prefer it to remain its own little thing?

Also, how would you feel about short limited miniseries to establish teams and characters? For example, I love Cloak and Dagger, but I think they work best as support characters in someone else's story, so maybe a six (or less) episode origin story, then use them as needed in AoS and wherever else.

maybe make the animated marvel cinematic universe? so those marvel animated movie will take place in big hero 6 universe. could be really cool I think.

I mean it stay separate from the live action movie.

Power Pack would work so great as a follow-up to Big Hero 6, especially if they take place in the same universe.

I think Runaways might be a little difficult to separate out from the rest of Marvel continuity. Especially because I love those characters as they are, and would like to see them exist within the larger MCU.

Would be lame imo.

Animation takes a lot more work and talent.

Rather them spend that time doing other things than building another Marvel Universe at the side.

Edit: would be cool if they did it on TV or straight to video though! DC is pretty good at that.

I would love a Power Pack animated film. No Franklin Richards but that's alright. Runaways I'd want as a proper MCU film but that release schedule looks way too busy.

Amadeus Cho, Runaways, Avengers Academy should be animated series/TV shows.

Then again those series touch on a lot of mature stuff (like would Disney be cool with the Karolina/Xavin relationship thing.) so I don't think it's possible.

Runaways (especially series 1) doesn't need the larger MCU, you just have to alter a few things like Molly's origin.

Runaways can be a movie trilogy. End when you reveal the mole.

I always forget Marvel can't really use mutants because of their deal with Fox. Took me a minute to figure out what you meant.

<3 Runaways.

I think it will most definitely be a separate universe. I remember Kevin Feige talking about creating a Marvel Video Games Universe with their franchises. I don't see how they wouldn't do the same for animated shows/movies.

I'd like this. The DCAU got me interested in their B and C-tier characters. Actually, they got me to accept whatever tier superhero or villain so Marvel can definitely benefit doing something like Big Hero 6 with their non A-tier brands.

Actually surprised that Marvel hasn't requested an Amadeus Cho cartoon. He seems like the perfect replacement for Ben 10.

I want:

Runaways for the MCU

She-Hulk, Cloak and Dagger, Misty Knight - Netflix

Monica Rambeau/Nextwave film

Young Avengers film

Unless Disney has their Toon Studio that cranks out those Tinkerbell and Planes movies make some Marvel Animated Cinematic Universe movies as well, I don't see how this could work at all. Disney's mainline animated movies take too long to develop to really get momentum going, and I doubt Disney would want to dedicate so much of its animated slate to comic book adaptions considering Frozen grossed 1.2 billion.

I would love a Nextwave Agents of HATE series on Adult Swim. Maybe by the same folk responsible for The Venture Bros.

Marvel is making a movie starring Captain Marvel. She's c-tier. So I think they could make animated films off of their b-tier teams.

Do it Disney. Do it.

The family-friendly CG movies is already crowded with Big Hero 6 and Incredibles. However, I wouldn't mind the others being a TV series or hand drawn.

I can see Power Pack but needs to have some MCU connections. Runaways no, I don't want Karolina and Klara getting hit with the pixie dust.

I think they should make more animated films, but I'd rather they not be constricted by the MCU or even their own. Just do more like Big Hero 6 where they don't necessarily make sense as part of the MCU. Power Pack could fit in line with that even if they teamed up with other Marvel characters. Runaways on the other hand I'm a little torn about. I think it totally could work as a standalone thing, but at the same time it could totally work as a live action TV show within the MCU.

The Power Pack would be awesome, but I think the Runaways are still in consideration for the MCU.
I've lost the faith. To point, there hasn't been one teen hero on screen from either company. BH6 is the first and I think that's the way Disney sees it.

Define them? Disney will just distribute or produce the movie another studio can take on projects just like the Pixar films.

Power Pack, FF4 (give it up Fox), Young Avengers, Journey Into Mystery, New Mutants...damn so many.

I'd rather they just continued making original animated films like they always have. If they can only release one animation a year, I don't want it to be yet another comic book movie, we have more than enough as it is.

Amadeus Cho is in Incredible Hulk.

you have more than enough, it will just have a two second disney logo on the opening / closing credits if that. Disneys own animation workforce doesn't have to do the films/projects for marvel properties.
