What exactly do you want us to discuss about this article? And how do you get “Disney starts gearing up for Blu-ray” out of this? Of course they’re frickin’ gearing up for Blu-ray.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment promoted Jeanne Hobson to senior VP of sales and distribution, a post in which she will play a key leadership role in the Mouse House’s launch of new formats such as Blu-ray Disc.

Hobson, a 10 year Disney vet, previously was VP of trade marketing. In her new role, she will oversee all domestic DVD sales for BVHE with a focus on creating and executing key account initiatives.

“Jeanne has played a pivotal role in the development of BVHE’s sales and trade marketing strategies,” said executive VP of sales, distribution and trade marketing Pat Fitzgerald, to whom Hobson reports. “Her invaluable knowledge and understanding of the industry will be instrumental in building upon our retail relationships and forging new and innovative strategies and tactics to maximize our great content.”

I am just as excited for the new format as anyone else, but I think you cross the line a little with your enthusiasm sometimes.

The only WTF I have so far is your seemingly unnecessary blowup in regards to the thread. Did Blu Ray attack you while walking home from school one night?

They haven't announced HD-DVD support...yet. With all their belly-aching about needing 50GB discs, one might think it'll never happen, but there's also the iHD issue, so..
