Glad I got my LE order in. No regret! But theres Dead or Alive 5 CE I have to pick up tomorrow too plus 11 other games by the end of this year. Big year-end for games.

USPS is cheap but they either damage or lose your package or don't ship especially for overseas people.

Cheap does not equate to safe. When dealing with an expensive product that is limited to such a low quantity, it is much more of a concern of ours to make sure the product is delivered reliably and safely than to save everyone a couple bucks on shipping. Also again, we are not responsible for anyone outside of North America. Our decision to leave orders open was out of courtesy of those of you who wanted the set enough to place an order with us.

Hm... FedEx and UPS is about the same for me in this area of NYC. I've only had one issue ever so far with packages going missing but it was recovered and delayed for another day or two.

Meh... still... that's a lot of insurance for $15 on a package so tiny and it's ground shipping.
 
Yeah not going to bother, will wait for store to have just retail copies of the normal edition.

Or am I missing something and they only sell via the site.

I could be wrong but I think even the standard version might be site + Amazon only. At least Amazon will be an option.

If you're not happy with our business methods you're free to order from elsewhere. They should at least have FedEx as another shipping option. I don't know why they won't do it. Do they get discount if they use UPS exclusively?
I think another thing that people (others that is not in NA) get mad at them is because this is the NA branch but its called Pentavision Global which some probably think they cover other countries too.
 
I'm not happy about the shipping costs, but whatever I guess. The overseas shipping costs are silly, sure, but I doubt they get the UPS discount someone like Amazon would get.

I think the big problem here is that the music game community often act like entitled shitheads.

even the 4 day ground is expensive. it's $15 here. really? i've done play-asia and it was 2-3 days for $17 (via fedex/UPS). they are insuring the package obviously as they say. but $15-20 for ground? lol.

and the package isn't even worth $15.

promo shows orange wrist strap. guy got orange. there's only red, yellow, green, blue lol.

cart case isn't glossy white. colors on the box don't match what's shown. lol.

It seems the DJ MAX LE boxes are getting smaller and cheaper with each iteration. They used to be big and had great design. One of the coolest LE imo was the one for Hot Tunes. The wooden box was so damn sexy. Oh well, as long as the game is good, I don't mind all that much.

2 or 3 pounds. Doubt it. 2CDs+case, 60 page artbook the size of an Xbox case, pouch made of soft fabric, the game and what can't be that heavy.

Play-Asia ships thousands of packages a day. Of course they get better rates.

Funny, I've imported tons of stuff over the years and I'd consider USPS to be one of the safest and best options. Even my $200 999 watch was sent via USPS without hassle.

The borderline aggressive stance Pentavision is taking - "well you aren't in America so we don't care about your money" - isn't warranted. Considering DJ Max will probably never get an EU publisher lined up they should actually be trying to encourage import sales.

I don't read it that way at all; actually, I'm totally surprised international shipment is even possible given their licensing agreement probably doesn't cover other territories and they could be in serious trouble if the motherland didn't approve this. Once you prove you have a subsidiary willing to service other countries, it becomes harder to sign on international publishers, who would then be forced to compete with the existing import market. I see their statements as more confirmation they weren't supposed to allow this at all and trying to distance themselves from the consequences.
 
It's incredibly foolish for them to proclaim they're domestically aimed. Americans haven't done shit for DJMAX, thus far. Almost the entirety of their exposure is thanks to import stores on an international scale, otherwise they'd have little to no exposure at all.

How hard is it for them to offer different shipping methods? Honestly, who the fuck is going to spend $80+ USD on shipping alone when US prints traditionally deteriorate in value? I wouldn't even be able to make my money back at a later date. The only possible comfort I can take out of this situation is in knowing there'll be more than 750 (I work in product lines - it's just a marketing ploy, they'll definitely print for compensation).

i guess we just don't have a publisher yet for EU which is why they bother. we know it's coming to EU just don't know when.

anyways, there should have been at least 1 LE open after i canceled. I'll go get a PSN card and buy off store.

Do we? No DJ Max game has ever had a retail release in Europe (Fever was digital only) and Pentavision have gone on record to say that they don't have an EU publisher lined up.
