DJMAX Technika tune (Vita) Features music from KARA.

Ah another 2 weeks. I'll probably receive this and my P4G import around the same time! :D
Another update, another delay.

It's the week after thanksgiving and we're sure a lot of you have been wondering what's going on with the game. We've pretty much been on pins & needles waiting to hear back from Sony and our freight forwarder about everything since our announcement on the 16th. We just got a response from Sony about the status of everything not long ago and here's where everything is at:

Actual production of the game is at a standstill post holiday because the vendor that they use to print the card labels has not delivered them to Sony's production facility yet. When they inquired about it they were told the expected arrival date for the labels would be thursday or friday. The new production completion date from Sony is early next week (monday or tuesday, they work 7 days a week). Shipping from their facility (in Indiana) will take 3~4 days so our new expected arrival date is the 7th.

The PSN version of the game is still being released on Dec. 4th (next Tuesday).

Our contact at Sony's production facility has assured us he'll continue to feed us updates as things happen, so the next post from us will either be upon the completion of the card's production, or when the games themselves are en route to us by our freight forwarder.

I'm usually pretty patient about this shit, but I won't get my copy of the LE for probably a week and a half after the game is available on PSN. I gave them $115 over two months ago. That is completely unacceptable.

So this is around 3.9GB right?

Depending on whether they announce an actual release date, I might just end up getting the digital release but I'll have to get a bigger card.

I'll just play Project Diva until then. I played a bit of the arcade version of Technika Tune in JP. Is the tracklist the same?

Where did you hear a download size?

There's some overlap the song list between Technika (arcade) and Technika Tune (Vita) but it would probably be better to expect a parallel songlist rather than an arcade port. Neither of my favorites from Technika (The Clear Blue Sky, Watch Your Step) are in Technika Tune =/

@elixir (posted earlier in this thread) told me. The PSP games were pretty large too though so not surprising.

But yeah I guess I'll just get a bigger card and the digital version.

Arcade version was fun! Screen is maybe too big though.

Probably. I said around 3.9 since I couldn't remember the actual file size, but it's 3.something at least!

Off to Canadian deals thread to find cheap options for 16gb cards ~

How fucking ridiculous. The annoying thing is that they simply keep delaying the release with barely a sorry. It's pretty lame how the people who ordered the Limited Edition of the game for $100 more than a month ago get screwed over. It could be worse though, at least we have a date to look forward to and it's not some vague statement.

We had a date to look forward to before this recent delay as well. Sigh.

Wow damn, I'm going out of country starting December 6 for 3 weeks. I have to change shipping address to my friend's instead. This is bs. Thought I was going to get the game before traveling so I have another to play when I'm not doing anything. Boo!

:sigh: This is really frustrating, I have that $20 credit in my account and I'm thinking of just buying the digital version next week and selling my LE to someone on GAF at cost.

The only thing that would make my anticipation for this game skyrocket beyond the levels they are now is if they announced Captain Jack Feat. JC DLC packs.

At this point, I recommend everyone just get the digital version. This is a game you will want on your Vita, ready to go, at all times.

I got the JP limited edition, but I think somehow I'll end up with the digital version as well.

Honestly, I probably will. I mean, you're right; I can guarantee it will be the game I'm playing the most until a new DJMAX comes around, which will be years. Might as well invest in it.

Oh, god no. The guys who are doing this for Pentavision are flaky as shit.

If I take what they've said via email and on Facebook at face value, this was really a perfect storm of them getting screwed in pretty much every way possible. Here's a summary of what they've posted or commented that I think sums up the situation pretty neatly:

The whole delay issue started when Pentavision Global received orders (either from Sony or Pentavision Korea) to redo the game code to include the patch that came out after release in the other regions - to save on the cost of having to deploy a zero day patch in a third region, I imagine. This knocked the game out of the production queue in what is apparently a busy season at Sony's Vita card-manufacturing plant in Indiana, and they've clearly expressed annoyance at how slow Sony is to react to things as they try to squeeze themselves back in.

Before the whole must-integrate-patch order thing came down, they expected to ship in November, which was apparently not enough time to switch eCommerce packages to one that supported payment methods other than PayPal. Since they figured they would be releasing soon they just went ahead, knowing that locking with PayPal requires them to take payment up front (as PayPal doesn't support the buy-now-pay-later model at all). After the first delay, they considered switching to another package, but at that point most everyone who was going to place an order were already in, money and all; unfortunately, it was really too late to do anything about it.

Sure, in hindsight mistakes were made but circumstances really came out of left field and in such force that this team of people one could count in two hands are really at the mercy of all the bigger players they're forced to work with to make this long-shot of a game happen.

Yeah, I'm sure they are more upset about this than any of us are. The whole situation sounds like a humongous pain in the ass every step of the way.

Maybe they will give us a $10 refund for being such good sports. Well, most of us. Their facebook page has blown up with the worst argument I've ever read.

As long as there is a physical copy coming, by the end of this year... I can believe.

As someone who has never experienced DJMax before, can you briefly convey what gives it long-term play value over what I would perceive to be similar titles like the Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents franchise, Ubisoft's MJ Experience, Rock Band Unplugged and Theatrhythm.

Is it just the game's music catalog or something inherent to the gameplay experience?

No matter who did what and who's fault it is, this is an absolute disaster. I'm kind of running out of patience. No offense to the poor people who have to explain all of this to us, but I mean, really.

Is the game was going to sell like, 14 copies before, I feel awful at how poorly it's going to sell now when so many fans might just be like "Why bother?" now.

The main reason is because I love rhythm games and can basically play them forever. I just get addicted. But from what I've seen, the game is relatively challenging so it will hopefully take a while to get really good at it. Also there's around 65 songs, which is a pretty good amount for a DJMAX game. Another point is that you gain experience and level up, which is what unlocks songs and other bonus stuff.

I have no idea how I missed this game.. and its nice looking CE :/

hmm. you guys reckon this game will be in the Instant Game Collections in the future?

The music is great and there's usually a lot of songs/variety, but what keeps me going back to these games is the difficulty curve. I enjoy challenging games where I can see myself getting better. There are songs that you'll try and get absolutely hammered, not believing you'll ever be able to keep up with the notes/button presses. It's a big payoff when a few days or weeks later you'll be able to pass it all of a sudden. Then the cycle continues.

DJMax games have a number of difficulties to play at, and there are usually quite a lot of difficult songs, so they keep me going back to them for a while as it's fun for me to just keep improving.

Music is the best out of all the rhythm games on the market.

I don't think the game would ever be offered for PS+. It's such a niche game that most people who want it, buy it. I don't see how they would benefit from giving it out for free.

This Tuesday on PSN, yahoo.

Want to get it without having to buy a new Vita card (for now, anyway) but would have to delete everything minus save data from the 4gb card to fit it on, I think.

What's the site to order physical copies of this thing, if/when it actually ships? Is the first shipment already sold out?

Not sure I can give it the crown over Beatmania IIDX, but yes, the music is pretty goddamn good.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to put any music game's music over IIDX. It would have to be another game in the Bemani series if I put one ahead of it. DDR, Pop'n Music, and Gitadora all have pretty incredible collections of music, too.

Yeah, we need an OT.
It's out tomorrow digitally!

http://www.technikatune.com/buy.php

Only the LE is sold out I believe.

I can keep things up to date but I'm pretty short on time to be able to do graphics or whatever for a first post.

LEs were preorder only but there have been cancellations. The ones thus freed up will be made available sometime after shipping starts - currently expected sometime this week.

Regular physical copy is $50, shipped free via USPS if you're in the US. Digital is $45 and will be out tomorrow.

Does anyone knows how much does this game size is??

I think I will need to delete some games :(

It's been said the digital versions from other regions exceeded 3 GB. I remember reading an 8 GB memory card was the minimum to even install the game, but not totally sure on that.

After spending a fortune on Black Friday/weekend, I can't go through with buying this thing digitally on top of already pre-ordering the Limited Edition. I need to have some restraint lol. I will be crying jealous tears until it arrives on my door step.

Question:

Is the physical release even going to be sold at normal stores. Y'know, like the Amazons? Or is this gonna be one of those weird things where it's only sold direct from Pentavision? The stupid $50 price tag says to me that it's the latter...

No room left on my 32gb card and I don't have anything I can delete at the moment; may go ahead and put an order in for a physical copy and just hope they actually ship it this month.

I'd like to know this as well since they're charging a ridiculous $24 for shipping to Canada.

If this is direct only, any US bros want to help a friendly northern neighbor out as an intermediary so that I can get this thing shipped for a reasonable price?
