very DMCish

huh!? yawn... whuuh?
oh, sorry, I just woke up and I was in this thread.

This game is junk! Not even worthy of rip-off accusation

Where's my DS Castlevania?!
>: (

kee-rist this genre is overloaded in japan right now. some of the games (many of them) at least have interesting elements, but there are far too fucking many.

It does look nice from that video. I like the way the air fighting looks. It looks like it could be one of the better DMC clones out available.

Did you seen Yuna? :). Anyway, it looks more like a Bujingai-clone than a DMC clone. Less gothic, European Midevil influences, more Asian flavored colorfull over-the-top action.

Please name them all.

Doesn't say anything to me....Perhaps it fit was for PSP/GC...But for PS2 who already has DMC, LoI, Shinobi and Nightshade ? Hmmm nope...

The same can be said with the fps genre in the west.

Nice!

This is a genre I like, and I'd love to see more titles like this on shelves. (There may be a glut of slash-'em-ups in Japan, but there definitely isn't one in the US right now, IMO.) If a company like Mastiff or Majesco were to pick this up for release here (ideally in the $20-30 range), I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. :)

There is also a Yuna ripoff in the video. Btw, is that Utada Hikaru signing in the backgroung of the video? The song's style has absouletely nothing to do with the style of this game..

looks like they ripped the textures off of DMC as well. anyway which are some of the better 3d hack n slashers? is bujingai any good? looked good from what i remember.

Haha, the design looks like a crossbred Dante and Solid Snake. I call him, Snante

Good one.

Slighty exaggerated, but pretty much the case, (very slightly). He makes a good point about the "hook" being neccessary to stand out in a sea of similar.

Stay far away from Bujingai unless you're insane (or D2M15).
so could you recommend some other nice looking slashers for ps2?(besides shinobi, oni 1/2/3). i gotta pick up otogi 2 as well.

It's not exactly a member of the new-fangled fancy fightin' genre, but check out Onimusha 3. Compared to the others in the series, it's got limber controls and plenty of moves to use, along with lots of fun weapons. Also: Jean Reno.

It's always vaguely struck me as one of these games, with meat.

Still have to hit up Otogi 2. What's the price on that, these days?
