Well I've got the Star Wars SE laserdisc that are worth absolutely nothing now that the dvd's are out.

The defenitive laserdiscs are still worth something though, since they are based on the original original original Star Wars movies.

My dvd collection doesn't contain anything of considerable value though.

What, really?? I got that from my aunt for Christmas whenever it came out, and I could definitely part with it for that money.

edit: oops, nevermind I have Wrestlemania... 2000 or whatever, the one with the fatal four way

I think that one went for a lot also... basically any of them pre-WWE namechange, since they sold out the stock and then no new versions have come out.

Would I pay $60 for WMX8 on dvd? No, but I would sell it to someone for that =P

I have the Criterion Spinal Tap and Silence of the Lambs, the Akira tin (though that's not that rare), the SE of Army of Darkness, the tin version of Evil Dead 2, and the Necronomicon edition of Evil Dead.

Anyone get the original DVD version of Ed Wood before it was immediately recalled? That's probably pretty rare.

+1 Akira tin (actually, I have two of those, because I thought it'd be collectible). Also--

A complete run of all 20 Bond DVDs
Fantasia Anthology
Toy Story--Ultimate Toy Box
Snow White
Three-disc Anchor Bay Suspiria (#1234)
Criterion Hitchcock box
Criterion Straw Dogs
Several of the Disney Treasures tins, including all four Mickey Mouse tins, The Chronological Donald, The Complete Goofy and the WWII tin

If Big Trouble in Little China is rare, then I've got that.

This is the rare version of Big Trouble in Little China:

Lo Pan rules!

There's a similar 1-disc version, but it doesn't have the DTS-track, and it's not rare:

You can order the Akira tin from several DVD stores online.

And something that's "funny", is that a lot of times the rare version of a DVD is usually not the ideal one to own. Like a lot of those "rare" Criterion DVDs don't have anamorphic widescreen but the non-rare re-releases do and sometimes have better picture quality to boot.

I haven't really been keeping track, but here's what I know I have.

Criterion Collection DVDs OOP:

Seven Samurai (original release with the restoration comparison)
Charade
Dead Ringers
Hard Boiled
The Killer
Robocop
Sid & Nancy
Silence of the Lambs
This is Spinal Tap
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Rebecca
Notorious

Also have (not sure how rare)

Mallrats: CE
Army of Darkness: LE
Suspiria (3 disc)
The Decalogue (original release)
Toy Story: Ultimate Toy Box

I probably have more, but just don't know it.. :p
