Because I suspect many of you do :p Who here has a inkling that they may have a drinking problem they have either admitted to themselves or are in denial?

Come clean.

erm, you started the thread right away???

No, I'm just wondering who needs to be added to the list.

NOT YET!

I need to find one of those internet surveys first to test people on their drinking habits.

It's 3 pm and I have a blaring hangover. it feels like there is some glass in my head.

last weekend I was this drunk as well, I'll be drinking tonight too.

however, the whole town is going crazy due to the british and irish lions rugby team being here, I think my entire town is alcoholics for about 1 month. the main street has been closed for easier partying and everything.

I fail to see how drinking once a week qualifies for a "drinking problem". Fuck ye, I work all weekend, I'm entitled to a drunken Friday night.

I can't understand the obsession with getting drunk all the time just for the sake of having a group of friends to hang out with. That seems to be the impression that I get.

I realize that's not always case, but there are some people that really aren't cut out for getting drunk every other night with their group of "friends" during summer break or whatever.

This one girl I was hanging out with decided to drink with her "friends" one night, and get in a car with another girl (who was also drunk and driving). Needless to say, I've lost an awful lot of respect for her. I know we all make mistakes, but how fucking stupid can one possibly be? Call me an ass, but that's just ridiculous.

If you dont suspect you have a drinking problem at one time when youre in your 20s... youre not having enough fun.

Ass? Why? That's the pinnacle of ignorance. You put others lives at risk and your own.

I had a friend that pulled that stunt, and fortunately he gets to spend the rest of his life walking with a cane. Thank god nobody else was injured.

This is so interesting to me and a mentality I just don't understand. I have never actively lost respect for any of my friends, I don't even know what that means. I guess I just don’t judge people. I know it sounds callous but saying "I hate people that drink and drive" is like saying "racism is stupid" its just a catch all general retarded blanket statement used by people to foster a pat on the back. It's just a weak, dumb, no shit thing to say.

I drank a bottle of wine myself last night, but thats what I can put away. I was worried I might be developing a problem for awhile, but then I got dumped and it made me NOT want to drink. So I kind of figured it wasn't a drinking problem as much as I can drink a lot and I like drinks, but I have to be in a happy mood for it I suppose.

i have or will have a drinking problem if i continue things. i think it's a problem once you decide to facilitate drinking over doing living a productive live, which i've done. It runs in my family, but i don't like to think of it as some heriditary disease like cancer as some do. i've thought about it for a while, and i think i'll set aside a period of a couple of weeks or a month to stay sober. Partially in memory of my dad, who was a recovered alcoholic and drug user, and partially to see if i can actually do it.

And Macam, your avatar is creepy. :/

Edit: Sorry, i assumed that was Lemurs, but looking at it again, i realized i don't think she's ever posted a pic with lighting like that, unless it's slipped through my OA browsing, and i doubt i'd miss that thread.

I don't have problem with drinking in excess, but honest to God I'm addicted to making new drinks for myself like everyday :lol

Seriously I'll get some crazy recipes and go driving around town to find all the ingredients (there's more than just liquor you know!) to make the perfect drink. As I mentioned earlier in another thread, Raspberry Mules are my fav. drink of the moment, though who has raspberries and ginger beer at home to make them :lol

I just love experimenting and tasting new cocktails. I'm going to try to convince my boss to get a new drink on the menu named after me ^_^

To sip on a hot day with some steaks on the BBQ, I wouldn't want to drink straight liquor :p

To sip? Raspberry Mules? Fruity drinks?

You say you're on quest to find the perfect drink? Well I think I might be able to shorten that search for you right now.

And even i am moderately surprised
*thinks about the night me and Blackace demolished over 2 litres of whiskey and we were still considering whether to go get some more*

yup, i'd say i'm pretty much an alcoholic!

I don't have one although I enjoy getting buzzed as much as the next guy. And Diablos, anyone who has ever had alcohol has driven drunk or ridden along with someone who has (or at least had a nice buzz going on). If you lost respect for her, prepare to lose respect for a LOT of people.

I'll b 19 in a week and the only alcohol I've ever had was when I was 3 when I poured my coke into some1's gin then drank it

I don't drink as much as I used to.

I used to like getting out of control to the point that I wouldn't remember it the next day. But it's led to embarrasment and worse before. Tears, anger, freaking out. Really over-reactionary. Plus you go very slow anyway... and anyone around who's sober will think you are a COMPLETE asshole.

I was out in town one night and I ended up on my own. In a drunken stupor I got on the wrong bus and ended up miles from home. A fellow drunk offered me a lift home and I took it. Just a bad call... I woke up and just thought: holy shit, thank god I'm alive. I know someone who drinks and drives on a technical level, but I've never met anyone who handles their beer so well. And he never has much... and its always 4am or something when he goes home anyway. Empty roads. It's not right I know, but it's better than someone getting totally intoxicated and doing it at a human hour like some joy riders might.

Now I just drink til' I'm merry if I drink at all. Sometimes I'll do stuff I wouldn't do when sober - sing, dance, scream, say god awful things to girls etc - and that doesn't happen often, but even when it does it's fun. It's what I really want to do deep down. I'm drinking now to the point where my inhibitions go, not to the point that I'm a slobbering over-emotional moron with no grasp of reality and no memory of events the next day.

What I'd really like is more self confidence so I could be like that all the time without drinking. I don't think that's going to happen though unless hypnosis works :s

Oh, it's not Lemurs. It's a friend/old ex-girlfriend who I've recently gotten back in touch with, but she does bear some mild resemblance I suppose. Sorry to hear about your dad by the way.

Ironically enough, I haven't had a drink in nearly two months, but I was nicely buzzed when I was reading this thread and that trend will probably continue through the weekend.

Can't say I've ever had problem with alcohol. You know you have an alcohol problem when you plan to cut down, but just can't. I've become addicted to many things in my life (drugs, gambling), and I'm thankful I'm not an alcoholic considering half of my relatives are.
