Since Playstation 5, I always see that every news they make... Events.... Or something related, is always to annoy or is anti-consumer.

Or is there positive news?

Be careful, it's not to polarize anything.

No.

But the PlayStation fanboys needs to stop crying about the lack of Sony games.

Your console also runs 3rd party games. Take a look at it, you might discover some gems.

I thought it was the xbots that complained about sony not having any games.

If the question was "Do you consider currently most Playstation news is negative?"

I'd have said yes, but not all.

Not at all. Most of that stuff is up to interpretation and I believe only fanboys would take that negatively.

For example a $700 console is not bad news per se. It would only be interpreted negatively by people expecting something different.

Censorship it's not news per se, it has been Sony's stance for a while. Studio closures and increased prices are the norm nowadays.

It's been a good year for Sony and gamers but nothing is ever perfect.

Guess that's true too.

But I remember a lot of complaining a while ago. Someone even made a thread about selling their PlayStation 5 because of the lack of Sony output.

Meh, nintendo pulls worse antics and gets a pass from balding middle aged dudes, but i think the general negativity towards not just sony is due to a severe lack of fresh air from the terminally online folks, i can't understand how people say there is nothing to play/no new games, like shit, don't you have other hobbies/interests or an occupation my man?

OP is gonna change their tune quickly if Sony announces a Gravity Rush sequel.

In fact, didn't they recently announce a movie? Did OP see that as bad news as well?

Higher ups like Hiroki Totoki are squeezing Playstation for profits, they're literally trying to cut open the goose that lays golden eggs. That's why their marketing and communications suck lately, why they keep focusing on trying to cash grab with remasters and remakes, and trying to trend chase with gaas. The pursuit of ever more profit is going to be their downfall eventually. I just hope they wake up and realize that no, you can never satisfy the shareholders. Just focus on what you're good at.

Raise PS plus prices,

$70 per game.

That Sony is not at any event.

Let them unveil a $700 console....

No PS VR support on PS5.... Etc.

That's what I mean.
i see. I think (timing wise) sony should have a strong end of the year in terms of announcementd and PR momentum.

some rumors says they will have something... but you are right... at this point I dunno if sony is actually ready to wake the fuck up.

Sony has had some bad decisions lately. Trying to find a GAAS. Trying not to offend woke bitches, etc.

It used to be way worse though. A lot of it being console war BS.

Sony is like Nintendo for me now.
I don't really like the company but some of their games are good and their system is solid.
I don't need to like Sony and all the moves they do to also admit this has been a pretty good year to play on Ps5 with stuff like Rebirth, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Astro Bot, Infinite Wealth, Unicorn Overlord, Balatro, Metaphor, SMTV, Shadow of the Eardtree, Space Marine 2, etc
A good mix of exclusives and third party games.

I consider crazy spins around Sony negative to my brain.

It has it missteps as every AAA company in the industry, but 90% of news around PS are by far not that dramatic as press or forum dwellers are trying to spin them. Especially when you vividly rememder prior gens and truly monumental Sony's failures.

If you look at the list of most played games on Xbox and PlayStation these are almost identical. FC24, NFL24, CoD, Minecraft, GTA5 etc. So most played games on both consoles are the same, most users of both systems are playing the same games. most people don't care much about exclusive maybe beyond around release date and it is well know IP and with enough marketing around, but then it disappears very quickly from most played games and usual top 10 returns.

I think a better question is do we, as gamers, focus on the negative? Even if it is to push the negative spin about "the other" company.

There's a lot of positive news around them. But bad news is easier for circle jerking vultures to swarm around. To be fair, Concord and everything around it was pretty big news in the gaming industry.

Fixed and I'd say it's about 70/30 on GAF itself. I highly suggest viewing news outside of a few narrow avenues to see more positive news.
You and the guy who was worried earlier today should take March Climber's advice. Either tune out news or look at other forums to get a more balanced take on things. If you always focus on one source of news/feedback, you're only going to get one perspective.

To add to this, has anyone else noticed that almost every Sony game this year had some sort of controversy?
Even beyond the obvious example that is Concord; Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin, Astro Bot, Lego Horizon Adventures, Until Dawn, and TLOU2 and HZD remasters all had people bitching about it for whatever reason, as dumb or, in most cases, forced as it could be.

Seems like that's gaming in general this generation... people seem to enjoy putting each other down or the "other team" down more than actually playing games anymore.

Given their performance the comments from Sony management have been quite negative.

I think they're in a bit of a funny position. Obviously they've won the console war but I think they have concerns about the future of the industry, profitability and the sustainability of their previous AAA single-player strategy.

As I've said before, sales and market share all look great, but in the last year we've seen their CEO 'retire', the CFO publicly voicing concerns about profitability, weak sales of PSVR 2, the Concord failure and studio closure has bruised their GaaS ambitions a bit.

Will be an interesting 5 - 10 years coming up for them.

Easy answer: this thread exists.

Indeed. But, as usual with the GAF bubble, folks think this place dictates everything. Most people don't care and the console's sales do the real talking.

Yes, it seems to be a sad time if your a Soystation fan at the moment, I always see lots of angry and sad stuff about it on here recently, lots of them manifesting Xbox games to come to there beloved PS5 aswell, thankfully us at team Xbox are here to help, you may pray for Starfield you will get it when its no longer relevant but for now you can enjoy Sea of Thieves and Grounded.

I think they have fallen off a cliff since last gen, granted keeping up that momentum was pretty much impossible,I've got nothing positive to say about them right now.....it's weird I won't be investing in a PlayStation this gen,I still want to play Death Stranding 2 though, fucking Kojima!

Exclusivity is mattering less and less, games as a service are failing more often, and AAA games are taking longer to make with less innovation (or big tonal changes for the "modern audience").

Sony should make more stuff like Astrobot and Helldivers 2 AA content.

At this point I expect a game or two from Sony a year that interests me, and I ignore everything else that isn't.

The problem is really the Western end of Sony (and gaming in general):

- Games are way too expensive to develop in the West nowadays and the demand is like definitely up in the air, hence everything is a big risk. Not to mention there's a stagnation in genres (either a full on third party adventure that's open world or FPS)

- Compared to the Eastern games now, they've had more success because of the budget (cheaper to develop) and catering to what fans actually want, I'm mainly talking about the non-Japan games: see Stellar Blade and Wukong

- The DEI virtues are like a false market, you think people give a crap about them but no one really does (especially around the world) and it turns off people

- People really want a slice of that Fortnite pie,

Lol you buy a Sony console, or Nintendo console, or a Microsoft console because of the games they make... 3rd party are in all of them. If first party doesnt provide wats the point? Is that being a fanboy now lol?

Very good points indeed, only disagreed with PS5 pro _ dont get me wrong, i dont like the price and it was a Kick in the balls, but then i see those pro controller prices and i, uh,....

Maybe stop looking at everything as either negative or positive? Is that what everything boils down to for you?

Well going story by story, I think most of the criticism is legitimate. By volume of words typed and published though, large amounts of it come in fishy flash floods. If you were here when the minecraft bedrock update was announced, you may remember the deafening repetition about cross platform play becoming incredibly important overnight and that did not stop for a long time. Or look at the runup to ps5 - The fud push was incredible.

It was $600 and overheating and couldn't do 1080 in re8 and we believe in generations (you are a retard) and the chip yields were bad and the variable clock was bad for some unknown reason and it was hard to develop for and they had to crank the clocks at the last minute and it wasn't real rdna2 and on and on and on. That was A LOT and went on for a whole year. That was all really one story, though: xbox already won.

So that one story, or narrative if you prefer, drowned out all legitimate criticisms by volume. Ironically, it kinda takes away visibility from the legit criticisms.

PC players experienced this a few years back with the similarly massive attack on valve spurned and just as likely engineered by epic. That was driving everyone up the fucking wall and also went on for a long time.

They deserve to be criticized when they mess up.

-But Astro Bot was amazing

-Launch of Helldivers was an amazing experience (I know they messed up later on but... we can't forget how EVERYWHERE the game was)

-Rebirth may not have met sales expectations but IMO it's one of my all time favorite games.

-K.N.A.C.K. 3 !!!!!!!!
