Two things with this...
One, that can be said of any and everyone (and wouldn't actually be true).
Two, "mess up" is so broad and not all of them are equal. I won't criticize a company for a legit mistake — I will for something that hurts the consumer intentionally.
In this regard, Sony is no different to any other company, furthering the needlessness of this thread which was birthed out of a light bulb moment the TC got from a recent post.

Sony has had some bad news lately, especially Concord, but in the bigger picture, they're doing very well. Xbox raised the white flag and is shipping their former exclusives to PS5. The console war is over, and Sony are king of the hill. Now whether that's good for gamers, who knows, but it's certainly good news for Sony.

It's a mix. Concord bad, Astrobot good. The Last of Us Online cancelled bad, Stellar Blade good. PS5 Pro price bad, PS5 Pro specs good. Bungie purchase good, then strangely enough, Bungie purchase bad. Remastering all the PS4 games bad, $10 upgrades to PS5 version good.
