It's about to turn into a very unique doorstop unless some decent games come out in the next couple months. I'm diggin' on COD2 and NBA2K6, but that is an awfully long and barren gap between now and Oblivion.

yeah, they really did it with the interface, i mean, the interface makes everything else so much better by just doing what it does... and the craziest part is there are quite a few improvements they could make!

what really impressed me was i was able to hold a private chat with someone while gaming with 4 other people in a race

Yeah I absolutely fucking LOVE my 360. The new Xbox live is OFF THE HOOK.
Unlike some others that are underwhelmed by the launch games, I have this to say. As someone that is not a PC gamer, and never has been, the visual power of the 360 is breathtaking. Just compare what is on show in titles like Kameo, COD2, PDZ, Condemned, etc. and it is clear that this is a huge generational leap from the current crop of consoles.
Long story short, if you just finished F.E.A.R. with a shiny new $500 Nvidia card in your high end pc, you probably won't be that impressed. Everybody else, however, will probably pick their jaw up off of the floor when they first start playing.
OH, and get yourself an HDTV. Nothing looks as good as the 360 in HD.

Amazing hardware, alright software. Microsoft did their job, but what do you expect? Peter Moore to call em out on the software at E3? It's coming though, so you better grab one for Gears of War, Ghost Recon 3, and Oblivion. PGR3 and some other content will definitely keep you busy for awhile, but this system's got a real bright future. Just imagine that online service with Halo 3 out there, taking advantage of the system and it's functions entirely. All on beautiful HD. Now that's something to see. I think we're in good hands next gen.

PS3 is building up to be a powerhouse, 360's limits are far from established and has an amazing interface/network, and Revolution's going a different route because they really have no business competing in the same categories as Sony and Microsoft. They'd just be forgotten in the battle. If they can accomplish what they hope to with Revolution though, it's going to be a very successful system with Nintendo fans and people in general just looking for something different.

It's the game that made me buy the system so I really hope I enjoy it. I'm sure I will and tbh I doubt it will do anything to stop me playing it...I'm just really hoping that it can live up to PGR2

I'm having a blast playing PDZ online and single player. I haven't even opened any of my other games yet because of it. *hugs 360*
XBL is also friggin awesome on the 360. Definitely doesn't feel like just another console.

Well last night I was playing Geomatry wars talking to my friend in a chat well he played King Kong all well listening to music streaming from my computer. Yes it is awesome.

It's just that most if not all launch titles took a technical shortcut to be ready for launch. PGR3 with the 1024x600 framebuffer, PDZ/Kameo/and a lot of other games don't have AA, no vsync, you name it.
This technical issue does not make them bad (or good of course) games, but it smells a bit too much like the devs needed like 3 more months to actually be able to really get the hang on the hardware.
Well, at least we know that this time around the 2nd and 3rd generation of games will have a *big* technical evolution compared to the launch (window?) titles. One would argue that the Xbox launch titles already used the hardware very well, but with Xbox 360, that's definitely not the case.
