This is a song my friend created. Check it out, I think its pretty darn catchy. If we were in the 60's, this would make it on Indiana radiostations! Wooo!

I quite like it. The distortion on the voice isn't particularly pleasant, though, and he isn't quite in tune throughout, which sticks out quite badly in this sort of song. If the distortion's not deliberate, then it might be a feature of the compression used, in which case you (or he) really need to recompress the song.

He made his voice scratchy on purpose, being that he's a Huge Strokes fan. However, its obvious he went overboard.

Going out of key...sometimes I hear him going out of key, sometimes I think I'm imagining it. He's always sounded borderline to me......

If you can hit right on the edge of that borderline, it sounds great. He's just over it at times, though.

The distortion on the vocals isn't quite the right sort of distortion if it's intentional. Get him to play around with whatever software he's using to do it - it needs to have more of an AM radio sound to it IMO, rather than just sounding like it's horrible clipping from setting the recording levels too high.
