I switch between a lot of games. I regularly come back to the Mass Effect Trilogy. Lately I've been playing Fallout 4, Super Mario Wonder and Starfield. This weekend is going to be all Astro Bot.

So far this year, my time playing has been spread pretty evenly between single-player and GaaS titles.

Single player games are what I play. There's the occasional one that has coop and/or PVP (eg. Souls games), but I've never played a multi-player only game. Just doesn't grab my interest.

Single, some brain muscle games, can't be specific, it could be a dialog, a puzzle, a skill, a real skill to obtain, anything.

This year has been a ton of online Tekken and MTGA, only single player games I played were SMTV and Wukong.

when i was younger it was strictly multiplayer. didnt care if a game had singleplayer at all. Now im the opposite and prefer single player with no multiplayer attached. But i do still play multiplayer on PC but only like 1-2 matches then im done

I've played a lot of Tekken 8 this year, but when I do it's mostly on the couch vs play and sometimes online vs with friends. I don't enjoy Tekken 8's competitive online as much as I did Tekken 7 for some reason.

I basically only play single player. If I play something that is multi-player only, I treat it like a single player game, for example War Thunder (I just fly around in VR).

Im 35 and dont have the time to remain good at a multiplayer game. Also, a story with conclusion feels like a more valuable experience, and time better spent, when compared to playing mp matches over and over again.

That said, i adore mp games and wish i could enjoy them as I used to.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
It's been a long time since I've had any interest in multiplayer games. I love local multiplayer but don't like online. The responsiveness is part of it, but it's mostly because it's just way more fun when the people are actually physically present.

Which ones do you miss?

I am predominantly single player as I can take my sweet time playing the game the way I want to.

I pretty much gave up playing multiplayer with special exception for Fallout 76 due to its non competitive nature and do as you please exploration.

Represent.

Only MP game I ever play is COD, or that stick fighting game, with my nephew and niece, who are 8 and 5.

Single player almost exclusively. Gran Turismo is by far my most played game but I've only done five short online races out of 585 hours played.

Looking forward to tomorrow, swapped my PS5 to the projector upstairs and have all day to start Astrobot at 100" 4k60.

Hopefully the projector has good input delay (few do).

I mainly play single player games and a couple online games from time to time. I really love getting immersed in a game that I can take my time in and play for however long at my own pace. Thats why I love single player games. Online multiplayer games today in my opinion give me this feeling of I have to play them constantly and right now! Which maybe I don't want to play it now but I honestly just don't have the skills to keep up with players online. I have had fun in online games. Years ago I was playing Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Online when I got my playstation 4 a few years back around 2019. Then after I just played mainly single player games (Shadow of the Colossus, Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid 5, Crash Bandicoot Trilogy to name a few). I didn't dive back into online until last year when I got into Street Fighter 6. I have had an awesome time playing that game and still boot up the online from time to time but mainly play single player modes and offline friendlies with my buds at the house. I really enjoy playing with people in the room in local multiplayer/co-op. Current single player games I am playing right now in my current rotation are Legend of Zelda Breathe of the Wild, Mother 1, Pikmin 4, Advanced Wars, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4, and Soul Calibur 2.

Im one of the few people here who absolutely hates “cinematic experiences” games which is part of the issu i have with modern single player games (the games that dont shut up about the story)

So i generally steer more to the co-op centric or multiplayer games or survival/sandbox games.

Flavor of the month new releases with a never-ending rotation of TES 3-5, IgaVania, Fallout 3-NV, All Souls and FEAR.

I exclusively play SP games even games like Monster Hunter I always play them solo.

Currently playing Visions of Mana and Astro Bot.

I buy a lot of single player games both on Steam and PlayStation, but I mainly play multiplayer ones including FFXIV, Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 and lately Deadlock.

Single player.

Something about hearing that 8 year old kid lip off after he/she kicks my ass that doesn't sit right with me.

Have you unlocked the followers in MHR? If so, who do you like? And honestly they're better than a lot of real players. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Mostly single player.
I like multiplayer too, but I only really enjoy it when playing with friends and I'm at an age where between our various jobs, time zones, families, other hobbies, etc it's just hard to coordinate frequent online meetups.

I don't have a main game, I basically just move from one single player game to the next. I'd like to replay some favourites more often, but I guess contrary to what a lot of people here say I think we are in a great time with tons of good releases and I just don't have the time to keep with all of them....I mean fuck this year alone I probably have 300+ hours worth of gameplay to catch up with.

Mostly single due to most people I know not playing that often.
I love multiplayer and will whenever friends are playing or I find a great game that grabs me.

Otherwise yeah I generally just play single player a lot as there's so many options. Nothing specific but usually whatever comes to Game Pass these days.

Primarily single player. I'll occasionally play some of the less competitive multiplayer games (Madden, Fall Guys, Knockout City when it was a thing, etc.).

I'm glad follower mechanic is coming back in Wilds.

I like MH World but one thing I hate about the game is how much it pushed online in your face, it really wants you play with other people and there are quests requires you to team up with other people like Behemoth and its Extreme version.

I quite disliked those MHW cross-over bosses from The Witcher and Final Fantasy for some reason. They just felt odd to me.

I agree completely.....the Witcher one is fucking annoying because,,,,,first the entire game slow down to a crawl so you do the boring ass witcher style investigation and then actual fight super annoying with those Jagras.

With Behemoth, for monster with over size muscles, it barely moves just keeps casting meteor and summons tornados, they try to make MMO style boss fight in MH game and in my opinion it doesn't work.

Besides the Call of Duty games, and before that the Battlefield series until they went to F* it up, 95% of all my games are single-player!

I went with multi. But it's debatable as most of my time this year has been in Destiny 2 and most of that is solo and coop in nature. But I also play Rocket League quite a bit. Been playing Hades this week and might try to get into Elden Ring or Baldur's Gate 3 after that though.
