Yep. Contra 3, Final Fight, Star Fox , RC Pro Am NES to name a few of many.
Appy, are you playing these games on original hardware?
Huge factor for me as well in playing many old games.I love old games and I'm very attached to them even if I don't spend a huge amount of time playing them anymore. I still launch them regularly just for a quick fix or palate cleanser.
But one of their strengths was their non-committal nature. I can beat the first level of an old game in less time than new loading and splash screens. Firing up an old game isn't really a "decision".
And do you have original mechanical keyboards for the PC's also? Like the IBM Model M for example?Yeah, I have like 4 pcs, 1 modern and 3 others that cover 2000s and older. I could get a lot of them working with dosbox and dgvoodoo, but I really like the nostalgia. Pretty rare that I play anything from the 80s or older though. 95-2005 has a certain magic though, especially on pc.
I keep most of my old systems ready to go also, I find it completely removes the friction when the desire to play one of those games comes up. Can just grab it, pop it in, and be playing. All the time, I have many consoles hooked up and ready to play at anytime ranging from the NES al the way up to the switch 2, but lately most of my retro gaming has been done on the Mister pi, great little device
I have a model f, but no Ms. A couple period correct but cheap dome and slider boards. And do you have original mechanical keyboards for the PC's also? Like the IBM Model M for example?
Same, never really got rid of anything. Very glad for it.Yes!. I still have my collection of NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, etc. from when I was a kid. Recently picked up a Saroo cart for my Saturn so I've experienced a ton of games I missed out on. Have the NES and SNES classics. Love the classics. My N64 is kind of finicky these days so I have the Analogue 64 on order too.
A man with taste. C64 games take on a new meaning with modern advances either hardware or emulation. Shorter load times improves everything. I can't tell you how often I boot up Wings from Cinemaware or Turican 2I'm still playing Commodore 64 stuff. Admittedly not as often as I play Amiga stuff.
Not long sold an Amiga 1200 mind you. Cannot find a decent CRT so it had to go. Just the A500s left now.
