Do you see those dots?

They are most noticeable when you look at the blue sky- little pulsating dots. Or when you look at a black or white wall. You only notice them when you want to, I guess. It's something to do with the light hitting your eyes, but it annoys the fuck out of me and I always think my vision is dying. Anyone know of what I speak?

Edit: They're not floaters.

I know what you're talking about. I see them while staring at a white wall or something similar. You should go check with an optometrist or something if you see them all the time.

I see floaty things sometimes. It usually happens when looking at the sky. They look like transparent cells or something... little circles. I always figured it was microscopic stuff on my eyes somehow magnified by light tricks or something.

while we're on topic, what are floaters exactly? Are they microscopic organisms or proteins or something? When i look in one direction they actually flow in that direction, like they're caught in the current of a river.

It means that a cone (or rod? can't ever get them straight) isn't working. It's the eyeball equivilant of a dead pixel.
what's the warranty on that? If I send it back to god will he fix it or just replace my eyeball entirely?

I THINK that's what a floater is... I have that a lot when I'm driving I'm day dreaming. It's really annoying!

They are part of His Design, and are intentional. But, the amazing clarity of the working rods/cones make up for it.

yeah. high definition, widescreen, full colour AND portable. a dead rod/cone is forgivable. :lol

Yup I've seen them also, almost like I'm riding space mountain through the long tunnel like light speed in star wars. Never really cared about it.

I took a mini Labatt Blue nerf to the eye (actually I deflected it to my eye) play 'fireball' in my lab at work - it's been months and I still see a little black dot in my left eye :(

Doc couldn't see a scratch or anything at my eye exam ... so I'm just fucked I guess.

Sometimes when I'm straining really hard, I can see a pulsating pattern.

I believe it's what happens when the blood vessels in your retinas dilate or contract suddenly. Your eyes can sense them, but normally your brain filters them out easily as long as they remain the same. When they change, it messes with your filtering software.

Perhaps you should check your blood pressure.

Similar to what i experience. Except they appear from the edges of my vision and move inwards, as if i'm going through hyperspace backwards.

YEAH! I see them too.

They're floaters. Plain and simple.

You're basically stuck with them. Unless they suddenly increase in number, it's not something to be concerned about.

I have a floater in my right eye. It's only annoying when I'm reading or staring at a white wall (I do that more than you might think) because it looks like a greyish colour against white. It seems to intensify when I have a headache. Other times I don't notice it.

That is causing pressure on the eye, and that MIGHT cause problems in the future, I would hit up the eye doctor about it next time you see one.

I don't have floaters since I got my lasik but I do get "silverfish" once in a while, looks like silver sperm shaped things swimming around, maybe from too much acid back in the day :)
