I've been thinking this for ages. It's obviously a means to an end and not an important problem but the content is a little bland and often just promotion of content for external sites (edited clips, etc)

I find it hard to find good porn on there that doesn't feel like some Instagrammed-version of it. I can't explain this but maybe you know what I mean?

Other sites tend to offer better, more realer pornographic content so I'm a little unsure why Pornhub has become so dominant. It's a bit like the porn equivalent of Amazon or Facebook - functional but bland.

Thoughts from my fellow master basters?

It's not about that. It's about being the most popular and well-known generally means keeping up on trends and going lowest common denominator for views. The average person who is "browsing" is going to be bombarded with stepbrother and stepdad videos for the first 10 pages. That's not a good representation of the different kinds of content on the site.

I think the popularity with PH is more to do with the massive amount of amateur models that use the site to post their unique content. That's not what you get hit with on the front page though when you just go to the site it seems like it's just another tube site and that's it. It's like xhamster and manyvids combined.

Pornhub is an indirect contributor to the higenic paper market. So even if it does suck many people wank off to it daily and thus consume said paper products. However your are right that if we improve the quality of pornhub we can further increase the consumption of higenic paper products due to an increase in the rate of wanking.

Although the real downside to this is that it may cause even more shortages with those products. And you do not want to see me without any TP.

Heres the secret, pornhub is just an advertising scam. Most of the porn on their is uploaded by the content producers to get you to buy their shit and subscribe to their websites. Mindgeek owns a whole bunch of porn sites.

And if you want to complain about pornhub, travel back to before the 2010's and deal with internet porn back then. 1 minute video would take 5 hours to download LOL. And then if you want to go back even farther your dial up internet would take an hour to download one nudie pic LOL.

Xhamster has been one of my go-to sites for ages.

Lately I discovered they've put up loads of full length 70s/80s movies in 4K.

It's not terrible, but Pornhub is owned by the same people who own all the major porn studios so of course there are a ton of 7 minute clips that essentially serve as advertisements to subscription services. If you dig deeper you can still find less overproduced stuff (especially through the verified amateurs section), but otherwise you're better off visiting xvideos, xhamster, youporn, or one of the other myriad porn streaming sites that are less corporatized. Although to be fair, most of the better known streaming sites are also owned by the same company that owns Pornhub (mindgeek.)

TLDR- cast a wider net.
