I'm just curious. It seems to be posted in just about every OT thread. Am I the only one who doesn't find it funny anymore? It's almost as annoying/lazy as someone posting "first!".

Blasphemy?

No it's boring and is said by people who think it's still the height of wit.

I mean i've seen threads where the first 8 replies are just people posting FHUTA.

Once something passes a threshold of being really old and really unfunny, it often gains its charm back.

It should be banned. Hell, we banned rickrolling, which as impotent and unfunny as it is now, is still a thousand times funnier and nowhere near as obnoxious. So there's a double standard. Maybe there's a reluctance because it's such a neogaf-specific meme now?

Oh come on it's sometimes funny, especially when it's posted with just the right amount of unexpectedness.

"A stray cat has made its home in my garage"
"FHUTA"

"My aunt is coming to say, what do I do?"
"FHUTA"

"I have been bitten by a poisonous snake, I am dying and I require antidote"
"FSUTA"

Wasn't 'FHUTA' and a number of other memes that were wearing thin banned some time ago?

I dunno what happened there, I guess the ban just fizzled out.

Kinda been overused now.

But I think the first reply definitely should have been just that, sealing the coffin with a final nail.

Oh, come on. It's just a place after all.

It was never on the list:
1. Shoop da Woop(firin mah lazor) -- It's racist, you'll get banned.
2. Nicole Bass -- Long story, avoid at all costs
3. Rape time!!! -- It's not funny
4. Rickrolling -- 1 month ban.
5. So basically X is better than Y (X = Game Reviewed 1, Y = Game Reviewed 2)
6. Caturday (unless specifically sanctioned by a mod or admin)
7. WEEKEND GAF LOL (and ALL its variants. If you call weekend GAF on a thread to dismiss or derail it, you will be banned. Let mods and admins decide what is not worthy of a thread)
8. Blame Wii Fit (you know why)
9. Posting in a Legendary Thread
10. tl;dr (including variant "BOLD PLEASE")
11. PM begging in all its guises

No, but it´s expected so I´m not annoyed by it.

Dat Ass, however, is brilliant and should be in almost every thread :D
Pretty much this.

And this.

I'd like to mention, at the risk of getting bitched out, that for a brief period of time, "So basically X is better than Y" was pretty hilarious.

Why is 'blame Wii Fit' banned?

I don't know why but the forum rules tell me that I should.

I think that at the time, it was some catch-all for the 'downfall of the gaming industry' after it was announced or something.

I never thought FHUTA was supposed to be funny. It's just a standart reply. Whithout it GAF wouldn't be the same.

Yeah, sort of like having trannysurprise in your browser screenshots. It just has to be there. If it isn't, people notice and point it out.

Yes. I remember this happening and I'm glad it was banned. It was used so much.

FHUTA is too long and crude.

On another forum, a similar trend had taken place at the start of the year. But it was "itb" instead. Which was effective, short, simple and versatile.

And like other good trends. It died out.

My post history shows I have posted "FHUTA" three times out of +4,000 posts. Those three times were back in 2006. So, no, it is not funny any more.

I hate 'cool story bro' even more.

I like "cool story bro," because it's great throwback to the era of sarcasm and "bro." By that I mean the 90's. It's also so condescending I can't help but like it. Like the word Butthurt it's just plain mean and therefore fun.

'Cool story bro' is something that should have been a meme on the internet back in 98' when we didn't tell pointless stories about bullshit back then. It was all business and configuring hubs, bridges, and routers.

On topic, FHUTA was never funny. It was erotic.

I think all memes should have a 1 month rule, anyone using them a month after they first appear unless in the perfect situation should get a roasting.

Every meme seems to get hammered into the ground, the plane one being the most recent.

People who use FHUTA or cool story bro or feels good frog or any other canned response is wasting thread space.

Think of something original to say or actually give feedback and you'll be amazed at how much less I'll want to hurt you.

If I was another one of you idiots I'd say "I see what you did there..."

There's probably a canned response now for everything. Someone could make a GAFbot that does nothing but say memes and we'd never know.
