Does anyone actually listen to the beginning of podcasts where the host talks by himself?

I literally skip it every time. I just want to get to the guest portion. And they're all the same. They ramble about random crap, plug their dumb companies, and insert stupid folk guitar interludes.

No one cares about your interns, Conan. And Sona is lame and unfunny.

only if it's short. on rogan I always skip to like 8 minutes in without even listening.

edit: about Conan, some of that stuff is good sometimes but he beats the jokes to death and on top of that he runs the same jokey ads like 10 times before retiring them

There's always that podcast where you can safely skip X seconds at the start out end, which is why I like apps with features for that. Trim silence is another good one, I've a saved 1 day 21 hours through that alone.

But on topic, I skip intros a lot less. Unless it's one of those network ads for someone else's podcast, but they are unpredictable so I have do manually skip those.

I don’t skip it, but I don’t pay much attention. That’s the time my mind wanders and notices how the house is in need of cleaning.
