Try boiling the disc. No, I'm not kidding. If you haven't heard about it, do a search on it. I've had to do it more than a few times, and it does work. Other people seem to be having problems with the Oct. disc, so you're not the only one.

Try boiling the disc.

Seriously, I've done this three or four times, and it's worked every single time.

You don't even need to bring a pot to full boil or what not, just hold the disc under hot running tap water for a few moments. I did this for the 2 out of the 50 or so OXM discs that didn't play initially.

Far Cry - awesome graphics, fun gameplay, only problem is that the bad guys spot you too quickly and never lose you.
Brother in arms - REALLY awesome. I never played the first but now both of them are on my must buy list.
The Suffering - *thumbs down* worse than the first
Burnout Revenge - Really fun. Slightly blurrier than ps2 version, better reflections
Indigo Prohecy - also awesome. the demo is pretty short, but it gives you a taste of the extreme amount of options you have, and the style is great.
Cold War - it might be good, but I don't know what the hell to do, it just throws you into some level with no direction. I don't care enough to find my way around.
Conflict:globlal Terror - better than its name suggests, AI seems very good, the rest feels like a ghost recon ripoff.

Edit: and the boiling thing definately works.

I bought it mostly to compare the version of Burnout Revenge to the PS2 version. Except for the sparks crap, the Xbox version wins for me with its absence of slowdown. I'll just wait for the retail version to truly compare the two though.

As for the other games, bleh.

Far Cry, average FPS with pretty graphics...now that I'm thinking of it, I didn't even try out the other games since I don't give a crap about 'em :lol.

I guess I'll check them out tonight.
