Does CompUSA have memory upgrade service?

I'm going to upgrade my Mac mini's RAM soon from 256MB to either 512MB or 1GB, but the problem is I can't open the computer myself, and I'm afraid of what'll happen if I used the putty knife method. So I want to upgrade. Apparantly, the Apple Stores don't do so (it's not an option on their memory upgrade site last I checked) so I turn to CompUSA. If they do offer it, is the service cheap and reliable?

You just answered the question I was going to ask about whether to take my new PC back and get a Mac Mini instead. Answer: no. Thanks.

Yeah, 256MB of memory just doesn't cut it with Tiger OS X. At 512MB the Mac mini will be perfect for me.

if you don't plan on upgrading to Tiger then 256MB is alright.

I work in a Compusa tech shop and I can say yes. We have installed ram into mac mini's before (we have a putty knife for it in our shop). God I hate opening those things.

I work at an Apple Store and we definetly do memory upgrades for Mac Minis. I don't know how it works at other stores, but at the one I work at it's something the Genius Bar takes car of. There's a $30 installation fee, but we usually don't charge that at our store.

Opening the Mac mini is rather easy. I've upgraded the ram twice and opened it quite a few times. It's not as hard as it looks, but opening the first time takes paitence. In anycase, I originally upgraded to 512 when I first got the Mac mini, then recently to 1 gig. I have a stick of 512 that I don't need, if you were looking to upgrade it to that I would sell it to you for next to nothing, like $35 shipped or so. Always willing to help out a fellow Mac user. ;) Let me know.
