I know this sounds odd, but, is it just me, or does it seem like Playstation3 is just.....not all THAT powerful? so we have a slightly crippled CELL CPU with 7 of normally 8 co-processors (the SPEs) clocked at a humble 3.2 GHz and connected to memory at 25+ GB/sec ...and then a faster variant of the GeForce 7800, but this isnt coming out until the middle of 2006 (ok maybe spring)........ while Xbox360 is here now (almost)......and every day that PS3 is not out after Xbox360 comes out, the hardware gets more and more dated. I know, this is nothing new. the Gamecube hardware sat around for about 1 year before it came out. as did the Nintendo64 and PS2.
nothing about PS3 seems truly cutting edge. not even the Cell processor.
with that said, I will be getting 2 PS3s at launch to sit next to my 2 medium sized 720p HDTVs.
