Does SFV Juri have the worst theme song in fighting game history?

It's drum and bass. It's all about fat bass and syncopated beats.

Juri's theme? It's definitely not drum and bass, it's more like minimalistic house music.

Karin has all the best music

Agreed, her main theme is my favorite song in the game by far. I have it set to my main screen song even, though the default main screen theme is also really good.

I think Juri's theme is a pretty cool piece of music but it doesn't work that well as background for a fighting game with loud ass sound effects. With headphones on I can hear all kinds of things that are completely lost in a real match, although admittedly I don't play very loud these days.

Also it sounds like dance music for insects which is gross and creepy, like Juri.

Sfiv ost wasnt great and sfv's is far better

Hd remix shows how classic themes should be reimagined.

Ps ken theme >>>> guile always and forever

OP is right. That theme is awful. It's nowhere close to the one from IV.

Is she wearing an eye-patch in V now?
After Bison stole Juri's FSE eye, she keeps the eyepatch as a line of protection for her replacement eye (an Alpha version of the FSE eye). It comes off whenever Juri activates her V-Trigger or does her Critical Art.

She is but she takes it off whenever she activates her V-Trigger (which is the Feng Shui Engine)

But she didn't have one in IV, any explanation for the change between the titles? The eye-patch looks...really, really awful. It's like they just took whatever started getting popular (for whatever reason) in anime five years ago.

It's techno. That's what techno sounds like.

Most people are abolute pedestrians however that 'like a nice tune', don't understand nuance, and won't consider something to be musical unless it conforms to their popularist bloated melodies and accessible pop chord phrasings.

I'm sure you love arpeggiated synths though...

its all build up.......it never gets started.

I mean it's not a good tune really , sounds like a DJ was at a club and had to go take a shit so he couldn't actually drop the bass or do anything interesting with the tune.

It's pretty bad. I like the intro but the song doesn't go anywhere and it's overall pretty boring.

I was thinking "the intro is fine so far" and then it never ended.

lmao this is how I felt too. I was waiting for the real tune to kick in, but it never did lol.

Never heard Juri's SFV theme before this thread because I haven't encountered her online, but yea, I don't really like that theme. Like someone else mentioned, was waiting for the "intro" to end, but it never did.

I don't know if it's the worst, but it's annoying. Like someone here said, it's all build up, no drop.

A genre like techno, or others like ambient/drone etc, that deal in persistent states, just separates those with attention span from those without.

Just because Juri's theme is based on a specific genre dosent mean it will automatically be good. Capcpom did a complete 180 and was for the worse. It represents nothing who Juri is.

This is basically how I feel when I read most comments about Streets of Rage 3's soundtrack.

As mentioned earlier, it is shown in Juri's SFV Story (which takes place before "A Shadow Falls", the Season 1 Cinematic Story) that Bison stole Juri's FSE eye. It also shows Juri getting a replacement from the Abandoned S.I.N. Laboratory, which turned out to be an alpha version of her previous FSE eye.

Keep in mind that SFV is after SFIV & before SFIII.

I don't really recall too many games with minimal on the soundtrack. I think Wipeout Pulse (or was it Pure?) had a Loco Dice song on it though but other than that, not too much is coming to mind.

There's plenty of techno tracks with appergiated synth melodies though... (Vince Watson baby!)

Ah, ok. I misread that at first which was the reason why I was confused.

As stated earlier, the eyepatch is just a means to protect her FSE eye from being stolen again, though her V-Trigger & Critical Art will destroy said eyepatch.

I was surprised by Juri's theme in V. Not at all what I would expect, but I like it a lot. I like it more than any theme from IV save for Poison's (my fav from the IV series) and maybe Viper's and... well, Juri's.

I've always been a huge Juri fan and not only do I think it represents her perfectly, I think it's easily the best theme from SF5
