Does time feel like it's moving faster?

Here's another thing to think about

On your 40th birthday, you are 16,398,720,000 miles away from the spot in the universe that you were born.

and that's still only 0.027 light years away from the spot in the universe that you were born.

Also, every molecule and atom in your body is made up from material that came from a star or stars that formed billions of years ago.

Life if full of wonder and discovery when you are young. Waiting 24 hours for Xmas Day felt like a week. As we get older, we know more, we are drawn into routines, thus life seems like it is moving faster, the surprise of everything is gone.

Time seemed to go slower as a kid because of all the new impressions and experiences you constantly had.

If you're just stuck in routine as an adult it will fly by.
Having a child made life slow to a crawl for me for about a year. But now it's going fast again because we are in a solid routine with him.

What's crazy to me is witnessing his growth and the growth of my friends' kids. One of my friends has 4 kids and his youngest is now 9, oldest is 15. I can still vividly remember him calling to tell me his girlfriend (now wife) was pregnant with their oldest.

It feels like I blinked and that girl is now nearly grown and making plans for college. My childhood seemed to last forever and was utterly packed with memories, but as an adult, 15 years passed very quickly and encapsulates my friend's daughter's entire childhood, which is now over. Just crazy and now I understand where all my relatives/parents' friends were coming from when they would freak out over seeing me and my brother and remarking how much we had grown as kids. Two years passes easily as an adult but as a kid, it's an eternity and you become an entirely different person in that timeframe.

Growing older + routine really makes time fly. These 2 weird covid years haven't helped either, feels like I'm only now moving past 2020 lol.
